Was just driving home and dashboard blinked red and said contact customer care...

never had a car leave me in an awkward position like this since I started buying cars that cost over $50K and were less than 2 years old
You clearly haven't rented a GMC Acadia from Hertz with no oil, bad rear brakes, and bald rear tires. It is one year old. :P

Your experience sucks, I'm not taking anything away from that; it must have been very annoying, frustrating, and probably a dozen other negative emotions. None of those feelings are unreasonable. But it is true that sometimes... things break. Other cars have left me stranded before, and the Lucid actually hasn't yet; the one time I had a battery issue, I drove it to the service center after a reset and moved on with my day.

Everything breaks sometimes. Even the Lucid. Unfortunately, it's when things break at the most inopportune of times that they leave us pissed off as all hell which, again, is not an unreasonable feeling.

But far more Lucids don't break than do; that's my only point. That doesn't help you when yours did, and I get that.

I do hope service takes care of you very quickly. <3

I'm going through a set of tires about every 10-12 months
I'm sorry, what? I just changed my rears after 20k miles over almost 3 years (shut up, my commute is gone as I'm "funemployed" so they're all pleasure miles :P), but my fronts still have tread.

Why are you going through full sets of tires every 10-12 months? Are you driving on beds of nails? lol

I believe you, of course; I just don't understand, heh.

I honestly don't know how anyone considering a purchase that follows these threads would reasonably be able to consider purchasing this car.

You really don't know? Here's a hint; most mature adults realize that enthusiast-focused communities often devolve into echo pits of complaints as they get more and more popular, and they tend to remember that people who aren't having issues generally don't feel the need to repeatedly post about how they're not having issues.

Your bad experiences are valid. Your frustration, warranted.

Your condemnation of the entire brand and the insinuation that anyone who is "paying attention to these threads" is effectively stupid if they choose to "buy the car anyway", absolutely not valid or warranted and not conducive to any kind of valuable discussion.

ya nuts I know, if I were to guess I would say that its a combo of having summer rims/tires in WNY(Western New York) combined with my appetite for acceleration? lol When I originally bought the car, I had no thoughts/plans about moving to WNY where it does so a significant amount throughout the year. I'm sure there will be a whole flood of messages about this, but I really didn't want to swap out the rims for the range wheels that are better suited for the snow (personal preference, but I just don't like them) and aside from preference, now we are talking about investing money in a car that has already had significant depreciation, etc etc

But I met a guy from AZ who had a Model X, and said the same thing that his tired were shredding from the weight/heat.

Summer tires turn into glass below 40-45 degrees F. You shouldn’t be driving on summer tires in the cold below 40-45 degrees F. More than killing your tires, it could kill you one day.

True of every car; has nothing to do with the Lucid or with it leaving you stranded.

But that makes sense why you’re going through tires every year.
