Volume change switching media

I have a couple of problems, hoping to get some help:
1. I was listening to music using CarPlay and BT on Apple Music, then decided to switch to Youtube to listen to a stream. When I try adjusting the volume for the YT stream, the Lucid switches to the song on CarPlay/BT and adjusts the volume. Why would this be happening ? I would assume changing volume should not invoke media switching.
2. While on wireless CarPlay, if I try to play anything from another App the audio is delayed, buffered and choppy. As though system cannot handle the processing, things are a bit better when using a cable connection

I also have found if I play a YouTube video while connected to the car, there's a delay. Doesn't bother me too much, as 90% of the videos I watch don't require looking at them anyway. They'd be better as short audio podcasts.

But I don't get the volume switching media thing. Odd. Volume works fine for me while playing a video.
