So, I admittedly took a leap of faith and jumped into the Lucid world without test driving one as there are no dealerships locally. So far I'm very happy with the car. The one thing I did notice is the video feed for the turn signal that pops up on the main cluster seems a little choppy, like it's running at <30FPS. Is this normal/expected behavior? The fact both directions show the same behavior makes me think it's just the refresh rate of the cameras but curious if that's "normal"?

Take a video? They've never seemed choppy to me, but different people have different definitions.

Yes, I believe this is a common “issue”. My 2014 Honda Accord had a better frame rate… You get used to it though.

Video feeds always seem choppy on startup for me. A bit unnerving backing out my driveway as things just pop into view. Unfortunately the gravity i was in this weekend still had the same choppy issues.

It is choppy. Funny thing, it happened AFTER an update. When I got the car in Jul '24 it was fine.

Really smooth video requires about 60 fps. The turn signal video never looked like that to me. It does look more like 30 fps or even less. I do a lot of video editing so I’m probably more sensitive to this than most. With that said, the Genesis Electrified G80 I had owned had similar low frame rates. I don’t think pumping 60 fps through the car is a particularly easy or efficient thing for manufacturers to achieve.

My lowly Hyundai Palisade's turn signal video is smooth as a toddler's bottom. So it can be done, even by mass market manufacturers.

Camera potato quality is a known criticism- not sure if it's hardware or software related. Fortunately there's much more that you air does better than the palisade.

Fortunately is the right word. Giving the more-than-double price :)

Talking about cameras: my Panamera takes the cake for the worst backup camera in ANY vehicle MY '17+. Any $50 aftermarket camera from Alibaba is MUCH better.

A tech I talked to thinks it's the cockpit screen resolution/refresh rate issue, and not the camera. Unfortunately that will mean no software or hardware (camera) updates can improve the issue. Was hoping to hear OLED screen in the Gravity is better, but sounds like similar issue persists as Air. Cockpit screens are cool, but maybe HD video and refresh rates are a limitation.
