2025 Lucid Air Touring
I’m an old Luddite who just purchased a Lucid Air Touring (I traded in my 10 y.o. Tesla S). I love the car but am puzzled by the whole LTE, Bluetooth status. I was unaware of this communication system in the car. I drove the car about three hundred miles home today. I had the frunk and trunk open while unpacking. I would guess they were both open for 5-10 minutes. I went to close the trunk and the trunk closure button would not work. I then used the pilot panel “buttons” to close them without success. Somewhere in there I used my mobile app and my wife’s mobile app without success. I tried the fob also but I was unsuccessful but may have entered the wrong push button codes. I called Lucid support. They told me to put down the lids slowly which worked. He said I have “low connectivity” in the garage.
That may be but I don’t get what that has to do with causing the buttons within the car not to function appropriately.
Thoughts?

After ten minutes with the frunk or trunk open, the buttons are deactivated so the frunk or trunk will need to be manually closed. I am not sure I like this feature but your is perfectly fine.

After a certain number of minutes (I don’t remember how many) the deck lids stop automatically closing and require a manual close. That’s why the buttons weren’t working.

It has absolutely nothing to do with connectivity; customer care led you astray, as you correctly figured out, heh.

I wonder if it has something to do with the car going back to a sleep state. I don't care for it either. Maybe Lucid could choose to leave the car awake if the trunk or frunk is open, if that is the case.

Nope. Car is still awake when this happens, for example if you leave a door open.

It is some kind of safety feature, and it’s actually intentional.

I don’t like it either. It’s not a big enough deal that I care very much about them fixing it (at the expense of other things that are more important, anyway).

But yeah, I dno why they did it that way haha
