Touchscreen sensitivity is very poor

Lucid Air Touring 2025
I’m a new owner of about three weeks of an air touring. I’ve noticed that the sensitivity of the screen is poor. For example, I need to press the garage door command multiple times in order for it to send a signal to open or close my garage door. But it’s not limited to the garage door. I find the same sort of issue with many other commands that I try to access. They all require multiple pushes in order for them to register. I’ve tried to press hard and quickly or to press and hold, but neither approach makes any difference. Multiple pushes are required. Does anyone think that a logo reset might improve this issue? I haven’t tried that as yet. Or is this common behavior that everyone experiences? I used to have a Genesis G80 electric and I really miss its software interface which was literally flawless. I also miss the ability to have a mouse type control over the touchscreen.

I usually have to press a couple of times to get the garage door to open, but only once to close. Generally no other touchscreen issues for me. Logo reset hasn't done anything re: opening the garage door.

My touch screen is very responsive. Try the logo reset. Now if you didnt wake your car from the app a minute ahead of time or if you have just gotten into the car and everything is still booting up the screen can take a little bit to respond.

I’ll check but I can’t imagine the films wouldn’t have been removed by the delivery center in King of Prussia where I received it

Be careful not to slide your finger sideways slightly when pressing the button.

Mine wasn't removed. I did it myself.

I've never had a problem but was driving a guitar player. I asked him to input a destination into the navigation. The calluses on his fingers interfered with his use of the touch screen. Slow and delayed responses to his typing.

It seems to me they made it this way to confir that you want to open

I have the issue but it is not big deal

It is only for opening the garage but rest is fine

I find that either a very short or very long touch fail but it works well with a medium touch. I agree that is seems more insensitive to touch than it should. I would say that about 1 in 5 times I have to try twice to either open or close the garage door.

Thanks to everyone for your feedback. The suggestion that actually turned out to work the best was to make sure that when you press the screen your finger doesn’t slightly slide to the left or right. The touch needs to be pinpoint and then the screen is responsive every time. For the garage door command I think it’s important that once you do the pinpoint press once you wait since it takes a second or two for the command to be picked up by the garage door opener and for the garage door to start to open or close. If you’re impatient and you press twice you’re canceling your initial press.

Generally agree, it's a bit inconsistent, especially when driving and you can't be your most stable. Porsche's "haptic-ish" system is kind of a good solution to this, at least the best I've used. Here you sometimes tap when you don't want to, sometimes don't tap when you do want to. It'll be tricky to really calibrate without any sort of feedback existing to your finger.

The homelink also seems to sometimes just have a lag, even when it registers the press. I end up pressing it twice because it doesn't react, but then I tap again and it activates twice and reverses the door on me.

What's your experience like with using the touch keyboard to typing an address/POI into the navigation. I've always noticed the responsiveness and experience was not great. You have to really be slow and deliberate when using the keyboard in order for it to register each letter...also do you have a 2024 or a 2025?

This is fascinating. I had noticed that getting the garage door to go up via the touchscreen was fiddly... but I figured it was just me, because like others I have generally found the system to work easily enough for other things. I wonder if it was a design choice of some type, or just a weird reality of it being a bit of a reach to the top of the panel for a lot of us that makes the touch less effective than it is for other commands.

I have a 2025 with 2.5.4 software. Haven’t used the keyboard as yet for navigation. Use Siri in ACP for navigation which works well.

They leave the films on. My delivery specialist told me they leave that up to the customer.

But during walkthrough they usually remove them. It’s possible that doesn’t happen so definitely worth double checking. In my case, I’m pretty sure that the delivery specialist did remove them during the walk-through. I’m also thinking that it might be easiest to see the one on the pilot panel if you invoke the clean screen command to get a black pilot panel.

I got my car from KOP and my delivery specialist specifically told me that they do NOT remove them so that the screens are perfect for the new owner.

Was Robert your delivery specialist? When he told you that didn’t he remove them then?
