Simple question that I couldn't answer through search: How long does it take Lucid to manufacture an Air? Specifically, I am wondering how much time it takes from the date the car goes into production until the it is ready to leave the factory.

I think it's changed, at least for the Gravity but the general rule of thumb was once the car hit production you'd probably be expecting delivery 2 to 4 weeks later depending on your location. Air usually was in production for about a week before being prepped for transit.

Yeah; that was the info my SA originally gave us, but it was incorrect as the process is different for Air.

I’ve told mine I must have mine by 6/5 as that’s when my financing rate expires, so we’ll see.

I truly wish you luck.

I've pretty much given up on seeing a Gravity before late summer -- if then -- as I'm still sitting at the "Ordered" status I was six months ago and unable to get any information from Lucid as to why there is no movement on either of our Dream orders.

If there were anything else remotely in its league for power, room, and handling I would be shopping around by now.

Timing might vary depending on your exact spec. I took delivery of a Sapphire a couple weeks ago and the "In Production" step went from an original estimate of 4 weeks to an actual time of 10 weeks. I'm sure the factory regularly produces more of the standard trims, so hopefully your wait will be on the shorter side. In both cases, my SA called me a few days before the dashboard status updated. While it was "In Production," I asked my SA for some status updates, but she wasn't able to provide much info about the car's progress while it was moving through the assembly line. It mostly went from silence to all-of-a-sudden "your car is ready!", with a little bit of back-channeling involved.

In my case, my initial quote for a lease expired between when I first submitted my application in February and when it was time to finalize the paperwork in May. The extra pull on my credit was kind of annoying, but hopefully you won't run into the same issue.

I know I was looking for this info while my order was in progress, so for posterity, this is what my complete timeline looked like:
  1. Dec 14, 2024 - Test drove at the Vancouver Studio, checked inventory, placed the order online later that night. Estimate from the studio staff was around 4.5-5.5 months for a custom build at that time.
  2. Jan 28, 2025 - Got a call from my SA that my spec was expected to roll off the line at the end of February.
  3. Feb 6 - Dashboard status flips to "In Production." Lease application opens up.
  4. April 18 - SA calls to notify me that the car is almost ready, just waiting on a software update to be released and flashed to the car.
  5. April 20-something - Status flips to Preparing for Delivery. During that next week or two, the car is delivered to my local service center, gets its final software update, gets detailed, has its final pre-flight checks checked, and the local team reaches out to set up an appointment for pickup.
  6. May 2 - Paperwork arrives. Mostly disclosures and affidavits for tax/registration stuff. A couple forms here also required a notarized signature, which Lucid FedEx'd over along with a prepaid return envelope.
  7. May 5 - Took delivery at the service center and enrolled in Lucid Owners Club later that day
  8. May 6 - Follow-up email with charging accessory credit

Still waiting to see what happens with the referral bonus. There was some additional weirdness there, but unless you purchased a Sapphire, that will hopefully be much more straightforward for you.
