Thoughts About Negative Posts

Some aren’t aging well either. I have a 22 Air Dream Edition (I think? Maybe Grand Touring) loaner right now. It looks good, but there’s a parking camera error half the time it starts, key fob not detected error sometimes, the HVAC buttons are all loose and floppy, and there’s so much exterior weather stripping that it gets pretty rough and ragged. You would not think it was a $120k car capable of destroying corvettes while rubbing your back.

The massage seats are awesome though 👏
My car, which I PPFd because it was a luxury $160k car, looks spectacular. :)

This is literally a demo vehicle, you’d think it would be the best Lucid had to offer since it has their QR codes and ads on it.
Oh, I agree it should be better treated! But I disagree that it is representative of how any other owners’ cars have aged.

my '23 Air pure AWD has been flawless at 84k I've only added two tires at 25k and two more recently. floor mats, seat covers and cabin filters aside, what things shall I expect to replace, improve or repair in the next 100k of interstate use?

Thats good to hear, id have to wonder what the highest mileage air is out there right now. The issue i see long term is pricing on parts if you need.

Nothing really out of the ordinary besides the usual things you service in a car such as your brakes, filters, etc. Maybe you might need to get the motor transmission fluid serviced but it's probably best to talk to a technician about that. I don't know the typical service interval for that off the top of my head.

If you keep your regenerative braking set on high, you may never need to service the brakes on a Lucid.

All this discussion is good, but perhaps put it in another thread? We are starting to diverge from the original topic.

Every brake job I've done in the last 25 years was not due to wear of pads or rotors but due to rust on rotors.

CAn't that be fixed by using the brakes (perhaps a bit more than normal) to wear the rust off the rotor?

even for brake fluid?

(but yeah in all seriousness I'm derailing the thread, this is the last question I'll ask with respect to servicing here)

The reality is you have more owners out there, and the problems basically are doubling b/c more people own the car and are having issues. It’s not a good thing that the issues havent gotten better, anyone who says that is being naive and ignoring the issues. I love our car, but im not blind to its short comings on quality and the software that just dont understand how it’s still an issue. Ive said it before, stop trying to sell this car at 100k, it’s not worth 100k by a long shot. It’s a 60 to 80k car fully loaded at best, ignoring the sapphire that lol i swear 2 people on earth own. They need to get back to the 500 plus to 600 plus a month deals, get more people in the car and get back to the quality of service they started out with. My wife loves the car, I saw the cosmo and frankly if they dont close down lol, id like to know i can just get into another lease. The lease return horror stories, the poor service department issues, software after all the years, quaility of parts, its not something your gonna see peopple paying 80k for a car ignore and they shouldnt.
You don’t know anything about car pricing. Average car price in US is 50k. I know you want a good deal but you need to be realistic. And compare it to the German sport sedans- the M and AMG cars….with the same performance.

Software is fixed, and even if there are small bugs, doesn’t mean you sell the car for 50-60k. That is pure stupidity.

Most car owners are not active on forums. I mentioned earlier that I personally know a small cluster of four other Lucid owners, and none of them participates in online groups.

Their observations are much more basic and practical: the Air is low and wide, which can be inconvenient in everyday use. These are the owners who scrape the front end on deep dips or badly rash their wheels on curbs -- even though that low, wide stance is also part of what makes it so aerodynamic, spacious, and distinctive.

I agree that a disproportionate amount of internet bandwidth on forums goes to complaints rather than positive ownership experiences. But I do not think most owners are sitting on forums absorbing that negativity. To me the larger concern is what a prospective buyer sees when they simply Google “Lucid Air.” or do Lucid Air search on YouTube. The Engineering Explained videos are likely to come up, and seems like those segments reached far beyond the usual forum crowd. In my opinion, they were overly nitpicky and did real damage to the brand’s image in search results. I know one car-shopping friend who was genuinely scared away by them, despite my own strong endorsement of the car and nearly three years of generally very positive ownership.
Yeah, I hate EE for that dumb video…..” hey look at me” selfish self serving nonsense complaining about minor issues that majority of owners don’t have. Hope he gets his due reward.

yeah i had a grand touring as a loaner with i think it was like 35k miles. Youd think it was 100k, tears in the seats, weather stripping coming off. Sensor issues as well, but I honestly hope since it was an early model, just like you 22, that thats not the case. I leased, with the hope of purchasing, just dont see that as an option anymore.
Loaners are never really taken care of by the drivers.

Are there owners that have zero issues or is expectation/probability reasonably high that when I get my (new) gravity I’ll be visiting service centers regularly (or mobile service)? One of my main reasons for going electric was to reduce service time (mainly cost).
My car is “ perfect” ….no bugs at all. All fixed. 2023 Touring. Ignore those few who complain all the time. It’s the best car I ever bought and keeping it another a decade. I usually buy a new car every 4 years, I don’t see another car comparable.

Yes.

Yes and no. For the first 4-5 years this will work. Some where in years 7 - 10 the heavy road salt used in the northeast will cause rust to expand the rotor around the outer venting. Eventually this will cause a pulsating pedal. Every brake job I've done was needed to correct this corrosion problem not to replace worn pads.

Highest reported/confirmed is @californiaboy935 at 117k. There's at least one other owner over 100k as well.
