The simple satisfaction of home dryer outlet charging

Holy cow that is expensive electricity! Roughly 40c per kWh? I pay 7.5c/kwh any time of day with no TOU to worry about. Your price is more than I pay at Tesla superchargers even (34c on average).
I’m on a TOU plan also, but never use grid power during off-peak or peak. My summer TOU rates are 24 cents off-peak and 56 cents peak. Last October SoCal Edison sent a letter saying they were raising rates by 13%. That’s when I decided to bite the bullet and start thinking about getting solar panels/batteries. I got really tired of being robbed by these clowns. Now with all the debauchery in the Middle East it was the best decision I ever made.
 
I would like to do it, but I can't get past the look of those panels on the roof.
 
At 1:45pm today in SoCal on a sunny day my SOLAR panels are producing 10.1 kW. My POWERWALL 2X batteries were filled to 100% earlier today to use overnight tonight. My HOME is drawing a total of 9.4 kW … 0.4 kW for the house, 3.0 kW for the air conditioner, and 6.0 kW draw for the Lucid at 24 amps on a NEMA 14-30. 10.1 kW produced minus 9.4 kW draw = 0.7 kW excess, which is sent to SoCal Edison. My home has an old 100 amp box, so I went with a NEMA 14-30 for slower 24amp charging which is fine because I’m retired and don’t drive much. No need for fast charging here. All in all, it really is great having this system up and running with what’s happening in both the oil and electricity markets.
They allowed you to put 10.1KW of solar panels on a house whose maximum draw of 17.6KW (220V * 100A * .8)? Can't do that in PG&E land (aka Northern CA)

In Long Beach CA the TOU for 4:00pm-9:00pm is 59 cents per KWH. The rest of the day the cost is 26 cents. I think PG&E in northern CA is even higher, I'd have to look.

It’s actually a 14.3 kW system, designed by Tesla, approved by SoCal Edison, and passed city inspection.
