anyone else shocked by the Tesla charging fees?
Charged my Gravity for the first time today at a Tesla station.
I knew that ‘fees could apply’ but did not expect a $25 service charge on a $4.33 sent charging session.

Idle fees maybe? I've always paid only the posted rate at Superchargers.

Which station was this?

I have charged twice at Tesla Superchargers. Both times there was an immediate $25 "charge", but they were only authorizations. Actual charges were $5.12 and $2.40 (~$.56 kWh). I wish connecting the Tesla cable worked as smoothly as the payment did. I've yet to successfully charge without taking up two spots.

call your CC company to find out if they're authorizations or charges. If they're authorizations, then you can expect them to disappear. The fact that there isn't a published 'service fee' of $25, and the fact that other have seen these as authorizations only implies that those are not actual charges.

Why would you take up two spaces? I guess if you’re in an Air, that would happen - that’s what happens with my R1S. But a Gravity has the port in the perfect spot.

The newest superchargers are centered in the spot and have longer cables.

I have an Air and no matter what I try, the cable will not reach when I pull straight in. It's about two or three feet too short without introducing my bumper to the curb. Given that I'm leasing and all the recent news there, I'm playing it safe for now. I thought this was a Tesla charging thread, not a Gravity thread, so perhaps this was the wrong place place to post.
