Tesla Charger Cord is too short to plug in

So Lucid's agreement with Tesla to share charging? Anyone have any tricks to actually connect the 6' cable? Tried yesterday but the only way to do it would be to take up multiple parking spots which, of course, is not acceptable.

False. It is perfectly acceptable and it's the suggestion given by Tesla themselves, at least until they finally get around to installing new units (which have longer cables) or retrofitting the existing units with longer cables.

I think most reasonable people try to find a unit on the end that doesn't block an extra charging space but if you gotta, you gotta.

Even if there is a DCFC extension cable for sale, it's not safe and I wouldn't trust using it.

I guess the only saving grace is that I don't recall ever seeing a fully-utilized Tesla charging area, so I doubt there would be anyone all that upset about someone taking up two spaces. However, if the site were pretty well utilized, I would sure as hell stay right by the car while I charged it, so I could at least explain why I'm taking up two spaces... lest I come back to the vehicle to find a nice long key scratch to go along with my added kWh.

I have been to quite a few Superchargers in urban areas such as Miami where a line was waiting to charge. You're spot on about staying with the car if you have to tie up two spaces. In fact, in some locations I even worry about leaving the Gravity unattended in its one spot, as some Tesla owners resent non-Tesla cars encroaching on what was once their private preserve.

As a longtime Tesla owner and Gravity owner, I have never seen this at any Supercharger in CA.

FWIW, I’ve had that conversation twice.

“Can’t you just go to the EA across the street?”
“No, they were full, and this is faster than their speeds”
“Ughhhh but this is for Teslas”
“And other vehicles now”
“Ughhhhhhhhh” as they storm away

So it’s definitely a thing. But it’s a “people” problem and not a Tesla problem
