Suspension dip after slowly crossing speed bump in smooth mode.

This only happens in smooth mode.

When crossing small but acute speed bump at slow speed, once crossed bump with front wheel, the suspension would dip again to almost maxed out after the initial damping, the back wheel would do the same.

Doesn't happen in Swift or Sprint mode it would just damp as normal.

Now that’s weird. Which year and trim? Does it seem like a mechanical thing or a software thing or is it impossible to know? My guess is software due to the mode selection.

I tried it again with the same speed bump in Smooth mode, front was ok but back sank slightly, must be software as it happens occasionally like the computer softened the suspension a bit too much for smoothness sake, never happened in Swift nor Spring mode.

My car is 2025 Air GT but I had similar experience in 2024 Air Touring loaner, the front suspension sank too much and the bottom of the car came into contact with the speed dump, lucky no damage.

The Lucid suspension team is always looking for new encounters of driving conditions for suspension tuning. If you are open to it, I would reach out to customer service about the behavior. My expectation would be that the Lucid team would want the data and work in coordination with you to get it to see if improvements can be made.

I would email or call customer support. Let them know you have repeatable behavior of the suspension that is odd for the suspension team to consider.

We have a lot of streets with speed bumps and humps. I have yet to figure out how to drive through them. Most have spaces between the humps so one can get one wheel through but not the other. It sometimes seems that at 30 mph it is smoother than at 20 but as I said, it is hard to figure out.

It may just be the geometry of that particular bump and your car's suspension.

In general, I switch into Swift for speed bumps, because it stiffens the suspension, so it's less likely to react as much.

Are you taking your foot off and it’s engaging brake regen? That would make it dip. I don’t think the suspension is “active” other than adjusting dampening by modes. But at full soft if you let up and then kicked in, it would have the effect t if shifting all the weight forward. Try it with regen off.

I do hold the accelerator going through and with the same way of driving after restart the car the phenomenon was gone.
