I am curious if there is a significant difference in quality between SS and SSP when you're only using it for BT streaming. By significant I mean meaningful. something you can easy tell even when you're doing 80 on the freeway, not some subtle differences you hear only when you're parked in your driveway and pay 110% attention to the tune.

I'm not using Tidal, Spotify, just plain old BT streaming and I'm wondering if I should spring for the SSP on the Gravity. Also, the SSP in my AGT, after the latest update sounds pretty non-surreal ...

There is a significant difference to me but everyone’s ears are different. You should test drive them and see what your preference is.

Since we're just speculating on Gravity...just because you're listening to BT doesn't mean you won't benefit from a higher end sound system. But it depends on the fidelity of your ears, and how much you really care. That being said, I do agree with you that SSP in the Air has been a little disappointing, especially post 2.5, but I think that only means that regular SS would be that much more disappointing.

Even driving at 80mph, you will notice the added Bass, and "fullness" that you wouldn't get from a low power'ed base system. But would definitely suggest trying them out. Maybe even take an Air with base SS out for a test drive at 80mph and see if it's satisfactory for you.

I strongly suspect you’ll like SSP more again soon. The upcoming tuning updates are ones I’m very excited for.

That was my opinion as well. I could easily hear the difference with Spotify or XM music.

Base Surreal Sound is hot garbage. SSP sounds much better with even the lowest fidelity music.

SS isn't hot garbage, but it certainly doesnt belong in a $80+K car. My $40K cars had better ones. I haven't listened to SSP.
