After reading a few threads posted on this forum about the setup of a subwoofer, I decided to take the leap and do it myself. It has been about 25 years since the last time I messed around with any car audio, so these posts were extremely helpful in getting me started (see shout outs below). I’ve had my 2025 Air Touring for about 5 months now. My goals were to add a little low-end punch to the standard Surreal Sound audio system and have something that will be simple to remove at the end of my 3-year lease.

Powered Subwoofer
I have always been partial to Rockford Fosgate subs, so I decided to go with the Punch P-300-10. The 10” sub fit perfectly in the sub trunk and didn’t take up much space. I am also able to close the sub trunk cover without any issues. I tapped into the rear 12v battery for power and connected my ground under the plastic cover near the trunk latch. As I want this easy to remove at the end of my lease, I did not connect the provided “bass knob”.

Line Out Converter
I also went with the AudioControl LC2i Two Channel Line Out Converter to easily tap into the stock sub under the rear deck. The stock sub has a dual voice coil, so I used 4 alligator clips to tap both sets of speaker terminals and ran that back to the LC2i. A pair of RCA cables then connects the LC2i to the sub. I also ran the Remote Out from the LC2i to the sub to control the “Power On” order. All cables were routed behind various panels without any issues.

Results
I was blown away by the amount of bass despite having the seats, pass through, and sub trunk cover closed. Thankfully, due to the high quality of the vehicle build, there is no rattle whatsoever. I was also able to easily dial the bass in to fit my needs using the LC2i. In addition, with the LC2i, there is no bass drop off as I increase the volume. Due to the minimal size of the P-300, I still have room in my sub trunk for my bin full of cleaning supplies.

Shout Outs
A big shout out to the guys that paved the way! Their instructions made it easy to find a power source, remove trunk panels, connect to the stock sub, and provided me with the inspiration and confidence to complete this project.

Nice setup! I had the local shop do the same with the Rockford Fosgate Punch P300-12. It provided a much needed punch to the Sureal Sound system!

The 12" also fit perfectly into the subtrunk but I'm sure the 10" provides more than enough low end. I also routed the control knob to the driver seat myself but I often just leave it at 50%.

Thanks! Very nice. Looking at the deminsions of the sub trunk I was worried the 12" wouldn't fit, so settled for the 10". And yes, it still hits pretty hard.

Got any more info on routing the control knob to the front seat? And have you had any dialog with LUCID on whether wiring a sub like you have here and a pair of 6x9's in the rear would affect the limited warranty or not?

As I'm a really old fart with zero technological ability, I would have to have a reputable shop do any installation. Could you give a hint as to what your shop charged for the equipment & installation ?

I ran it along the left side of the car by dropping the back seat. You could tuck it under the trim pieces of the bottom door sills all the way to the driver seat.

It was 2-3 hours of labor, at about $175 per hour. Plus the additional wiring equipment/adapters, it came out to be about $600.

Good to know. Thx.
