Exact 1 week after I took the delivery, the steering wheel came off from the column while driving, only barely attached by the cable. Very scary event, lucky it occurred before I entered fwy. It's in service since last Thursday, it seems Lucid is replacing the column.
Have anyone faced this issue?

Do you have pics of what happened ?
 
Whoa!!! That's an unbelievably serious issue, potentially reportable to the NHTSA. Lucid should determine if this is a factory installation / assembly or part issue
 
When that happened to a friend of mine years ago in a new Mustang, Ford was anxious enough to pay a cash settlement with a non-disclosure clause.

Just be cautious before believing this post and piling on. We do see a pattern in here of first time posters dropping the grenade with no evidence whatsoever then disappear. IF this happened then it's a very serious issue but I would currently take the post with a grain of salt until some further proof is provided.
 
Would also like to see pics, I'm quite curious about the failure point.
 
Agree! I have removed steering wheels in my time to replace with something more my style (Ford Cortina MK1 and on a Austin Healey Frog-eye) neither simply popped off and those were vehicles from the early 60's and vehicles are way more complex these days!

I was in a Chevy Vega, just got off the freeway, going about 20 Mph and the front right wheel fell off :) - good thing we were not at freeway speeds.

My friends Range Rover was two blocks from my house when his entire real axel fell off (yep, it looked as bad as what you picture in your mind hearing that).

I was in my Fiat, took a hard turn, and the drivers seat broke off and deposited me in the passenger seat (fortunately able to get back into a position where I could steer and stop quickly).

All those happened decades ago. Not that I don't believe the OP, but a picture would a helpful verification.

Ahhh, Fiat - mine decided that the accelerator cable should snap and stick wide open while I was driving on a 2 lane road at night with no way to slow down and not enough experience to know what the hell to do. Lucky for me no one was coming as a I blew through a stop sign before I figured that shutting it off was my only hope and it thankfully worked. Always an adventure in that car.
 
This sounds completely bogus.

Back in my teenage years, my first car had a bit of a rust problem that would leave my feet wet if it was raining.
