Hello! I’ve been trying to get a quite annoying woofer buzz that primarily comes from the driver side woofer fixed. So far the woofer has been replaced twice - once by the Houston service center and a second time by remote technicians. The car was returned to me both times with it still sounding the same and during this last visit I was told “The new speaker we installed sounds a lot better. Of course with the songs you sent, the very low bass still seems to struggle and there's not much we can do at that point.” The problem is the woofer buzzes on any song that has bass - not just the ones I sent, and it still sounds just as terrible as it did before the appointment.

Here’s a Google drive link to the video I captured

The song played in the video is “uptome by Clear Eyes” and my bass is only up a few notches from 0 (although it still buzzes when set to 0). Could someone else confirm that this is in fact a limitation of the SSP system? I’m struggling to believe that this is how it’s supposed to be.

They need to test the amplifier further... that sounds like a blown speaker but hard to diagnose just from the video. So... it could be that channel keeps overloading and blowing out the replacement or the DSP (Digital signal processor) is really off. Or a crossover? But I believe all crossover work is done internally by the end I don't know that for certain

Yeah I’m not sure what to tell service anymore, it’s definitely a mind scratcher. I don’t think service wants to dive into it any further considering they replaced the sub twice. I mean I was literally told “I hope you like it!” after getting my car back… then recorded the video I attached earlier. How is anyone supposed to like the sound of that 🤦‍♂️

I take it your driver side SSP woofer doesn’t sound like mine?

No that is not correct operation. It mechanically sounds off too but hard to tell. It sounds blown. Did they indicate the first speaker replaced was damaged.

They did not say if the first speaker replaced was damaged - just that the left side "sounded poorly". I shared my feedback with them so now I guess I'll have to wait and see what my options are from here. Was hoping someone else might've had the same problem and had a solution applied by their service center (that's different than throwing a new speaker on and calling it a day)
