As all of you are well aware, the Lucid Gravity does not come with a spare tire. Kyle at Out of Spec reviews recently did a video on a spare tire kit... in his case for a Tesla. I looked into the company he was recommending, Modern Spare, and I ended up purchasing a kit expressly designed for a Gravity. My wife is handicapped, and a lengthy side of road experience or tow would be very bad news for her.

You can watch Kyle's review for details, but for you 2 row owners who were looking for a good use for the watermelon holder behind the second row, it turns out that the spare tire kit fits almost perfectly in that space. (See picture.... the second row seat is still folded, but when put back up, it fits very well). The Grey pieces you see are the gap covers repurposed as wedges to keep it from moving, but for those who want it to look better, I'm sure a little creativity would find a better solution. This should also work for three row owners with the third row folded.

I obviously have not used it yet, but for us, the peace of mind is well worth the cost of the kit. Even if you call roadside assistance, at least you have a spare instead of a flatbed ride to a tire shop, and hope that they have a tire in stock to fit.

I bought something similar from EZSpare.
It's great for peace of mind, as we are sometimes outside of cell coverage.

I have a 2024 Lucid Air Pure which I bought a Modern Spare for. It comes with a all the tools to change a tire plus a zip cover for the spare, works well. Have used it already. Sunday in the middle of nowhere, ya good luck with a tow truck and as you said they are going to flatbed you and....with the spare just change it and you are good to go.

FYI.
The same EZSpare wheel can be used in both the Air and the Gravity.
You just need to get the appropriate tire from EZSpare.
I had bought one way back for my Air and EZSpare sold me a new tire to use for the Gravity.

I think someone in an earlier Gravity thread said that there was an aftermarket Gravity spare available that fits in the frunk. Personally, I'd rather sacrifice frunk space than to store the tire as pictured in the photo here.

The Gravity frunk is too small for a spare, but I can be corrected.

I suspect you’re right. There are spares (all of the aforementioned ones, I think) that fit in the Air’s sub-frunk, but I haven’t heard of that for Gravity.

Plus, then where would you sit when you park on a nice cliff?!

When I put the Gravity in Modern Spare size locator I get a 155 80R19 tire which means a 19 inch rim. When I measure the distance from center to caliber I get 9 3/8 which is 18.75 dia. That can't possibly work in back, maybe in front.

Could you get a picture of the size on the tire. Even better, do a test run of changing the flat in the back, to make things even less stressful when it happens.

Hopefully the web site is incorrect and everything will be ok.

I wish that a tire company would make a collapsing spare in Gravity's size. Likely the potential sales volume wouldn't justify the tooling expense though.

Here's the description from the Modern Spare website. I hope they're right as I just ordered one yesterday for my GGT. Their temp spare tire is 28.8" rolling diameter and is very narrow -- under 6". The wheel is specifically offset so that it places that skinny spare in the middle of where the stock tire would be.

Was curious how the offset would work so I made a crude drawing just measuring from what I could see and the specifications. The offset looks doable but regardless of the hype shown #12 above from the web site, this is what a 19 inch wheel would look like in red with the 20 in gray. The yellow rod is the approximate location and distance from the wheel of parts of the rear caliper. Surprisingly the front caliper OD is smaller and would probably fit the 19inch. I didn't do extensive measuring or modeling, could be wrong.

Also if it is 155 80R19 as shown on the web that 28.8 inch rolling dia is 7.5% smaller than the rear. I thought 5% was the cutoff, don't know where I read that.

By the way I investigated whether a Rivian 20 inch collapsible spare might fit. The rolling dia error would be ~1% but the bolt pattern is 5.5 in. dia not 120mm and scaling the pictures it looks like the collapsed dia would be 24.7 inches which still doesn't fit below the floor or in the frunk! Maybe that's why Lucid doesn't offer one.

Wondering if the Lucid lugs are usable or do we need to use the ones supplied by EZSpare, which I’ve misplaced..
