Software 3.3.20 Update

I just picked up our new Gravity GT (it's great, btw - flawless so far) and when I got home it popped up that a new software update is available, 3.3.20. But the weird thing is, the car was delivered with 3.3.20. Says so right on the app and in the car menu. Was there a rebuild of 3.3.20 that didn't bump the minor version number?
Mine said that once the first day and then 2-3 times since then has said that the update was complete but there wasn't anything to download and install as 3.3.20 was already installed. Just a bug.

Temperature may play a role. In my Tesla I arrived home after a 200 mile ride, with the car fully warmed up, with 7% showing. Thought I would super charge in the AM. It went to the 30's that night. In the morning it was down to 2%. Obviously much less range on a cold non-preconditioned battery. It's easily repeatable - just live and learn to not leave your car with a low SOC when temperatures are cool. Or if not at a low SOC, expect a drop of several points anyway.

Of course, YMMV.
Yeah I am thinking that it's temperature, or now the BMS is not super dialed in, only 300 miles so far....

Service advisor confirms the email is about the steering wheel and no further action is needed for my car.

For reference the part number of my replacement wheel is P21-DA00AC-05.
Well, I finally got my car transported back to me after having the wheel replaced to fix DriveAssist (and a few other things) and…..DriveAssist is still never available.

This is very weird because DriveAssist was working prior to the first time I sent it off for service in October, and then wasn’t working when I got it back. And now they had apparently fixed it, and then a week later after it’s transported back it doesn’t work again- almost as if something about it sitting for a week after service or being transported is what breaks it.

My Lucid was freezed after the new update 4 days ago. I noticed a new update 4 days ago, then I started to update and left the car. Today when I want to use this car, it cannot be unlocked. I tried all of my fobs and phone app, but all failed. My phone app even cannot wake up the car. Any suggestion?

Did you try the keycard on the b pillar? If that doesn’t work you’ll have to give Customer Care a call.

You should call and see if they can remotely pull error codes. The steering wheel sensor issue doesn't generate visible alerts in the vehicle, but it definitely does log telemetry about communications failures. Steering wheel replacement fixed our DreamDrive issue.

Yeah I am going to see what they can do remotely. What you are describing is exactly what it was like prior to this attempt to fix it, and the service report lists the corresponding hand sensor error they found in the logs at the SC prior to replacing the wheel, so all indications is that it had the issue and they fixed it…but then something went wrong again.

There shouldn't be any software revision that does not have a new version number. Apple uses letters during the beta phases, however always change version identifiers

I went ahead and did the update. The car went through the full update process and successfully completed it. On my lucidmotors.com Software & Updates dashboard page it shows 3.3.20 being applied twice. Not sure what happened here, but re-applying the update was OK and the car isn't prompting me with an available update anymore.

They actually stopped that a while back. Now they just label them as "beta 1", "beta 2" etc. (Apple dev, mostly Vision Pro)

We have been toying with the idea of a multi-week road trip come spring, maybe even cross-country. One of the contingencies was the progress Lucid makes with software fixes in the interim. But the biggest part of it was the Gravity's initially-superb charging capabilities.

But now having seen DreamDrive, DCFC, and the audio system become unstable in our car with this much-ballyhooed "Big Fix" update, I'm not sure such a trip would be advisable, at least in the Gravity.

We're hoping to keep our Air Dream for a few more years, but that may depend on whether Lucid introduces an extended warranty program before the 4-year section of the warranty expires in a few months. People at Lucid have told me that it is under consideration, especially as Lucid is mindful that warranties are starting to expire on early Airs. And our Air is holding up very well, but it is not a car I would want to own outside of warranty coverage. This is no slight to Lucid, as I felt the same way about the premium German cars I have owned, due to their high costs of service work.
Few days late here but cross country road trip is what my wife and I (and pup) are currently doing. All 50 states (minus HI driving obviously) + Canada but doing it all in the Gravity. Been at it for a few months now about a year and a half left to go. We shall see how this continues to go!

Awesome!

A trip report after all the unpacking would be quite welcome on the forum.
If you do so, please do it as a new thread.

Absolutely will do! I will post snippets along the way just to show how the Gravity is holding up along our route. I will have a decent summary of the first few months in the next week or so for you all to hopefully enjoy!

This update has worked wonders so far. I have not received a single false alert or any of the other wackiness, including the annoying arctic blast. Well done, Lucid.

Those of you driving Gravity supposedly without any software issues are driving unicorns. My car has at least a minor software glitch every other day. Today I had the upper and lower right screens freeze. Neither would accept touch input at all. The lower screen was frozen on seat adjustment screen. Fortunately the hard buttons for temp/fan control were working (since I normally have to go to HVAC screen on car entry to adjust settings.) The steering wheel pad worked for basic upper screen control and music via Tidal was playing. Then after being home for couple hours, go to make Costco run and screens all good but rear HVAC screen is showing temp in Celsius. I also have already posted elsewhere about having my first fob refusing to work the other day and having to use key card issue (which worked great by the way.)

Oh and also the battery level bar in lower right of dash somehow switched to showing miles left instead of % of battery. Have no idea how that happened or how to change. Yeah, I know I can consult the manual and find out how to change this somewhere buried in it, but frankly I am tired of dealing with these issues for now and am just going to sit back, watch football and drink a few beers. Happy New Year.

It must be at least as possible that those with problems are a minority, or perhaps half, or maybe even a majority, but we don’t know the numbers.

So “unicorn” may mean 10% or 50% or 75% or 90%. We simply don’t know.

All true.

But what we do know is that almost every major reviewer who has gotten hold of a production Gravity for independent testing has had significant software issues: Out of Spec Motoring, State of Charge, Savagegeese, Edmunds, Consumer Reports, Motor Trend, Car & Driver, et al. In fact, I have failed to come across a single review, major or minor, video or printed, that has not made mention of software issues, ranging from entering and starting the car to constant function alerts to difficulties charging to ADAS failures.

Our third Gravity, delivered six months after the start of full-bore deliveries, is the first we've seen without significant hardware or software issues so far. If Lucid had held off on deliveries for the six months it took them to work through most of these issues, the automotive world's reception of the car would have been so very different, as almost everyone acknowledges the car's superb engineering bones.

Whenever I enter the car and it does not adjust seat and steering to drive position I check the profile. Every time the profile is set to Guest. I change it to my profile and everything adjusts to driving settings.
New owner here. I picked up my Gravity four days ago and initially had the same problem. The default profile is “Guest,” and even though I created a new profile and thought I linked my fob and keycard to my profile, it would always bring up “Guest” whenever I entered the car.

I fixed it by making sure I had only the fob, entering the car, switching to my profile, and selecting the link button. Repeat for my keycard.

I’m guessing the software got confused when I was carrying both the fob and the keycards at the same some - something remained link to the guest profile.

The car initially has the fob and cards all assigned to a guest profile. Your delivery advisor is supposed to sit with you during delivery to help create whatever driver profiles you want and link the fob/cards. I only wanted one profile so it was quick but they also gave us a printed page from the manual with instructions to add more profiles later if wanted.

The delivery advisor did this but not for the fob and keycards one by one, with all but one of fob/keycard out of range. I think some associations with the guest profile remained until I linked everything one by one.
