I have a 2025 Touring and I skimped on the comfort package. It just didn't seem worth the cost to me at the time. I figured a properly preheated car doesn't really need heated back seats and steering wheel. Well, my heater hasn't worked, so now I wish I had those things. My car is at the service center now and hopefully they will fix the heater and I won't miss this any more.

However, the one thing I didn't realize was so important was the soft close doors. I never had them before and never needed them. But for some reason, these cars seem to require a lot more force to close than any other car I've been in. Passengers arw often leaving their door open. Especially painful when a kid is getting out of the back seat at drop off and leave the door open as I'm trying to drive off.

Any way Lucid can add some comfort package features after delivery without too much hassel/cost? I know some features on teslas are already on the car, but software disabled. I'm guessing that's not the case here.

That's not the case here. I have not heard of Lucid doing any package upgrades like that.

I have only closed a non-soft-close Lucid door a couple times, but I don't remember it being any harder than any other car? May be worth asking service to check that while it's in the shop. And/or compare with floor models next time you go in. I doubt it if it's all doors, but it's possible your doors just need some adjustment.

I have comfort and convenience package. How do the soft close doors work? I know I should read the manual. RTFM but as I get older I don’t take the time to read manuals

Agreed…one of the cars I test drove did not have soft close doors and it was a non-issue. Just a regular car door IMHO…

I've heard others here saying their doors needed to be re-aligned with the body. If it's causing that much of a problem then I agree with segbrk, you should have Lucid take a look.

The soft close doors are automatic, press the door lightly against the car and the mechanism should "suck" it in and latch.

yes. Don't confuse them with kitchen cabinet soft close doors. If you slam automotive soft close doors, the doors will close hard.

In my case, I missed one lease payment and Lucid removed the soft-close functionality on the driver's door. Now I'm on a 6-month probation period with them, showing I'm a good payer, until they turn it back on. My fault.

That is wild. Did they tell you that? Doesn't the bank own the car at this point. I wouldn't think Lucid would be doing that.

Sorry, I'm overly sarcastic sometimes. I was joking about the penalty box. But it is true that my soft close broke after their 2.5 update back in August and it's been broken since then.

Thanks for the input. I guess I can have them look at that too. It only happens about one a week, so I didn't think much of it, but I was concerned about water getting in to the frame area (not cabin), so maybe related.

I had read that before I bought my car, which is partially why I didn't spend money on it.
