I haven’t seen an *official* announcement but check out this thread linked to an EE video.
 
I don't believe there will be additional hardware required for UX3.0 beyond the chip upgrade. There will be additional hardware required for the V2H when/if it ever happens. However, I'm not sure that the UX3.0 for the Air will be identical to Gravity UX; in fact I suspect there will be differences.
 
3.0 won't be for all vehicles too. All older cars need to do hardware upgrade before 3.0 can be released. I think its pretty much robustness only for several months.

They said Air models from a certain point in 2024 forward would be able to be upgraded. I believe that coincides with when they started putting in the upgraded chip out of the factory.

Who knows maybe as we get closer there could be some sort of scale down version for models before but based on what we know as of now it doesn’t seem likely.

If I had a pre-2024 air and I owned the car, I would wait closer to 3.0 release and then go for the upgrade. I have a 2025 so it’s not applicable to me.
