SiriusXM Megathread

Whelp, I just tried and had to call. They wouldn't give me the promotion on the Air. May just have to wait and try again when the in vehicle trial ends. I currently use the app over CarPlay as well.
I kind of assumed this would be the outcome. Ours is a one of a kind setup, so we’ll just have to wait.

Tim, it would seem we don’t have a typical ‘radio ID’ in the Lucid. Even plugging in my license plate & state as an alternative, suggested in their offer, brought up an error message on their website. So I’m not sure how this 3 year deal would get activated. I would call, but I don’t have the inordinate patience required to deal with their reps today.
I just got off the phone with them. I'm adding this to my account since I already have two other cars with Sirius set up in them. A good amount of patience is definitely required!
The radio ID listed under settings is correct if you take out the dashes, it's just the 12 letters/numbers. They put you on a free three month trial first. It seems like that takes some time, couldn't get an estimated amount of time, to show up in your account. Once that is there, you can call back and ask about this offer. She implied it might not be available in all cars, but she didn't sound sure.

Serious Sirius and Phone Issues

I am having a lot of Sirius/XM issues with my car (Pure).

1. Very often I have to was for it to try to Acquire a Signal. Usually it takes from 30-60 seconds, but sometimes it never succeeds until I leave the car and come back later.

2. If I am on the phone when it reacquires the signal, the radio comes on over the phone call and I cannot mute the radio.

3. Most of the time when I try to make a call, the person cannot hear me and I have to hang up and call them back. When I do this, they can then hear me.

Is anyone else having these persistent issues?
I live out in the country with no signal in my driveway and for about a quarter of a mile once I turn on to the road. Signal then connects and it is fine. Occasionally I do have the problem with the “radio” and the phone overlapping. I just end the call and call back.

That’s a great deal! Thank you for sharing. You can also threaten to cancel at the end of the promotion and they will offer a better renewal. I used to do this with my last car.
They usually come down to about $5/mo. for a year, when you want to quit.

The masochist side of me decided to call SXM last night. So after some unintelligible discussions, they reduced my i4’s bill to $84. I hadn’t been paying attention to my SXM bill and discovered it had ballooned to $200/yr.

Further, the rep claimed I could use the streaming piece of my i4’s plan on the Lucid. I explained the car was unique in that the SXM ‘radio’ was actually a streaming app. She still claimed it would work if I signed out of the Lucid’s ID and signed in via my i4’s credentials.

I’ll wait to try this, but although there’s logic in the process, I’m somewhat dubious it will work.

Unfortunately, there is no way to sign in with your own credentials. Only can be activated via radio ID by SXM. You can use CarPlay and you phone SXM app

Generally you can stream your SXM subscription on other devices like Alexa. Hopefully the Lucid SXM will do the same at end of the free period.

I just received an email "The trial in your LUCID AIR" ends on 3/4/2024. It also provides the Radio ID for signing up.

Just found this link ... 3 years for $99 ... pretty good deal. I may "activate" the app radio in my Lucid to get this deal. Still includes app streaming. Then switch it to the Rivian as they are implementing the same App/LTE implementation in early 2024 and use CarPlay only in the Lucid

Now that SiriusXM has sent out emails regarding the trail on the Lucid, I decided to try the 3yrs for $99 offer. I was able to look up my radio ID with my existsing account because I transfer the new Lucid XM account over previously. Unfortunately, it only offered my the $5/mo deal.

Yes, same happened for me. I plan on trying again after the 3 month trial ends. $5 is good, but $99/3yr is better.

Too bad you can’t use an existing account with this. I already have two Platinum plans that include Streaming and would think you could use one of the streaming logins with the Lucid, especially if I use the Lucid Radio ID in place of one of the Platinum plans I already have. I prefer Platinum plans, as it includes all the Sports, otherwise would do the normal ones. Only pay $6 a month for each of those.

How do you pay $6/month for a platinum plan? I received my Sirius email and they offered 3 free months and then $23.99/month after!!! Really??? Should be wearing a mask and pointing a gun for those kind of prices 🤣

Took a drive today and found that SXM isn't working. I'm using the 3 month free trial and my favorites are listed but do not play when selected. This was working when I tested last week. I tried iHeart and Amazon Music (via voice) and both work OK, so I know that it isn't a connectivity issue in the car. I let the car reset by walking away from it (about 30 min or so) as well as Air reboot - same non-working result. I'll try again later now that I am home and the car can be on Wifi as well as keep my phone away so CarPlay doesn't start which causes Wifi disconnect and switches to cellular.

FYI ... I received an additional offer to extend my 3 month SXM trial on my Lucid for an additional 3 months for $2. I pulled the trigger to get SXM for free for 6 months and canceled my streaming only subscription. At 6 months, I'll do my usual and threaten to cancel to get a better rate (typically $5/mo). I wonder what offers Rivian will have once they implement SXM in 2024 -- probably similar.

My 3 month trail recently ended.

I had purchased a lifetime subscription in 2005 for my Jetta diesel for $500.
I have been talking to SiriusXM about transferring it to my Lucid for the last 10 days.
The agents could not figure out how to do it.
Finally today I am told that it can not be transferred to a Lucid.
I could not get a satisfactory reason why that is.
"Corporate" is supposed to get in touch with me eventually with an answer.

Any insight as to what the problem is?

SXM has the WORST CX…every time I call they have cars on my account I’ve never owned all kinds of weird issues every time I call, but I love Howard stern so I’ll keep it with the headaches as long as he’s on!

I think the problem is that the Lucid uses the software radio, and transferring the lifetime subscription only works for transferring to actual satellite radios.

I have an actual satellite radio for my Lucid in addition to the software radio, and I was able to transfer my active lifetime subscription from, a Tesla model 3 to the XM Satellite Radio.

I should point out that my satellite radio really has nothing to do with the Lucid per se, since it was an aftermarket add on.

My guess is that the "lifetime" was for the lifetime of the Jetta, not for your lifetime. Do you have the Terms and Conditions for the Lifetime agreement?
