As the title says, I had a brutal start to the morning and managed to sideswipe the garage frame while backing out. I'm incredibly bummed out and trying to figure out the best way to handle this.
Given that Lucid uses an advanced aluminum space frame, I know body repairs can get incredibly expensive and require specialized tech. I'm torn on the best financial move here:
- Should I file an insurance claim? (Worried about premium hikes, but if aluminum repair costs skyrocket, it might be necessary).
- Or should I just bite the bullet and pay out of pocket?
For those who have unfortunately been through this, what was your experience?
Also, does anyone have firsthand recommendations for Lucid-certified body shops in the Dallas-Fort Worth (DFW) area? I’m also checking

Appreciate any advice or comfort you can throw my way!
