Progressive hasn’t covered Lucid since I bought the car in 2022. I have never had issues with any other insurer, including GEICO, State Farm, Farmers’ and Cincinatti/PURE/Chubb.
They’ll quote it sure lol USAA is getting kinda wild on them too. The super big boys will do it, and there’s always Haggerty. Eventually carrier or two will specialize in them as they insure more of them.
Same. They covered my AGT with no issues. It’s by no means cheap and I suspect it may be state and case specific. I’ve been with the company 5+ years, have a clean claim history, and multiple policies with the company. I’m very cognizant of the fact that a claim with the Lucid could bring devastating financial consequences even with insurance. Unfortunately for most people the cost and availability of insurance is often an afterthought when buying a car. It really shouldn’t be.
I agree. I got a quote from them before I purchased the car. More expensive than my MachE, but not outrageous given the cost of the car.
well yeah you're in Arizona! There's enough Lucid there for them to build a model on it, and accident repair will be cheaper and faster.

Several independent brokers who handle multiple companies also no-quoted me. I asked one of them why the no-quote. His agency mainly sourced customers to Progressive. He told me it was the 819 hp that was the issue. He said if I had a Pure it would be no issue and also thought maybe a Touring might work, but the 819 hp was more than they wanted to cover. But when you think about it, a Gravity GT has even more hp.

It’s always by State and how many of the vehicles are in the state, availability of parts and repairs, stuff like that. It has zero to do with your customer profile. Some carriers do it solely by MSRP of the base model. Mine is on a Travelers business policy and costs the same as my Tesla. Not my place to ask why!This is a little concerning. I think USAA when they covered me did not even ask the model, just "Air".

I’d get a written estimate from a Lucid certified body shop first, then compare the total repair cost with your deductible and the potential insurance impact. With the aluminum structure and all the electronics and sensors, hidden damage can make a simple looking hit surprisingly expensive. If the estimate is several times your deductible, I’d seriously consider filing a claim. Either way, I would stick with a Lucid certified shop rather than a general body shop.
