LUCID AIR TOURING
Hi Lucid Community,

My mirror housing was cracked in the hospital lot and now the camera isn't turning on either. The plastic around the top is cracked but other wise it stays together well. Cameras all look intact. Has anyone replaced the housing or entire thing?

I replaced the (lower) trap door with a $75 piece from Ebay; mine broke a couple tabs in the impact. Lucid sells only the entire mirror.
I used black duct tape (pic) to complete the edge corner of black trim (around the glass surface) that broke off. Figured I would wait and see if it would 'disappear' from view and be good enough and it has so far.
Cameras need reset / repair from Lucid. I was lucky that after 1 dash message of a problem, it went away. Perhaps the camera somehow sensed the impact to the mirror?
The trim below the door took a hit but kept its shape and cheap concrete post paint cleaned off with some chemicals.

Recently, my Lucid AGT was parked as usual in my garage. As usual I got into the car to back it out of the garage. The Pilot Screen did not display the car’s functions. Instead, the screen display was frozen on what appeared to be a map with the word “Air” superimposed on it. I took a photo of the screen, and I attach it. I tried everything that I could think of to get the Pilot Screen to resume normal functionality. After 5 minutes of trying I exited the car, hoping for a reboot. I waited several minutes outside the car before re-opening the door. The Pilot Screen still was frozen with the same display as pictured in the attached photo. I decided to try to back the car out of the garage because I hoped that driving the car a short and safe distance would cause the Pilot Screen to resume normal functioning. Without normal functioning (an unfrozen Pilot Screen), I could not retract the side mirrors. I backed up as slowly as I could, trying to exit the garage with the mirrors extended. Despite reversing at the lowest speed possible (to cause the car’s tires to move), the side mirror on the passenger side struck the side of the garage and cracked the black outer housing of the mirror assembly. A piece of the black outer housing came off. The mirror is functional, but there is a crack in the housing. See attached photo. I called Customer Care to plead for Lucid to at least contribute partially to the cost of repair. Customer "Care" was not very caring: "We are not responsible. You should have called us before you tried to move the car in reverse." I called an authorized Lucid repair shop and got a ballpark number for replacement of the mirror. $2,700 said the repair shop. Yikes, is there any other solution/ Mirror works fine but needs a minor fix to the plastic. I guess there's no such thing as a minor fix! Anyone have any thoughts?

Had you just charged? That screen shows up for me after every level 2 charge. The solution is to hit the navigation button on the top right Glass Cockpit screen, which will load the car's navigation. That should get rid of that frozen screen and you can then go about your business as usual.

Sorry about the cracked side mirror, but I don't personally think Lucid is at all responsible to replace it.

Agreed, really sorry about your mishap but IMHO, no way Lucid is responsible for that...

$2700 sounds pretty steep. My wife clipped a mailbox with our right side mirror the end of summer ‘23. Mobile service replaced it and we were charged ~$700.

yes, good method OR just put your finger on the horizontal bar at the bottom of frozen screen and swipe up

yes, the entire mirror assembly retails $1,250 from Lucid but may be discounted.
Then need install (interior panels off to get to 3 mounting bolts) and camera recalibration

I will accept responsibility, though a 80/20 split would not be unreasonable. I will accept it and learn from it. Yes, I should have called Customer Care before trying to get out of my garage. On the other hand, has Lucid ever advised the owners what procedures to follow to re-boot the vehicle under these or similar circumstances? So, when I called CC I was taken through a procedure that was completely unknown to me (holding down all at the same time the brake pedal, the X on one side of the steering wheel and the microphone on the other). That resulted a re-boot and restoration of the car's functionality (i.e., restoring the Pilot Screen). I suppose the $2,700 preliminary ballpark repair estimate from the authorized Lucid repair shop was so painful, given that I could not have known about that re-booting procedure and also considering the minimal damage caused only to a small piece of the outer plastic housing.

I hear you, it's frustrating as heck but I just think that any car manufacturer -- even the most customer centric out there -- would be headed down a very slippery slope were they to offer to compensate drivers when they inadvertently hit something. The reality is that cars have been safely backed out of garages for decades before all of the new driver assistance tech we have these days and it's ultimately on us as drivers to not hit things...at least that's the way I see it. Hopefully, you'll find a more reasonable repair option as that $2,700 sounds way high. Again, sorry for the mishap!
