Hey… it’s a first world car! lolYou CA people have 1st world problems![]()
With some service centers apparently providing 3rd world service! Not Coldwater MI though - They ROCK!!!Hey… it’s a first world car! lol
NOW, that seems to me to be aggressive pricing and a valid attempt to keep a customer. I applaud the move!My lease is up in three months. They just sent a note saying that, if I get into another Lucid by the end of the month, they’ll waive the final three months of payments, waive the lease turn back fee ($450), give me a $1000 credit on wear and tear, and a $5000 credit towards a new car. It’s a super interesting move to me and signals they are challenged and wanna keep the business. I’m test driving a Rivian next week to decide between it and Gravity.
Wow! This is great to hear! Hopefully I get the same offer in a couple of years, I would get the Gravity in a heartbeat with those deals. My lease is up in three months. Seattle too I cannot say enough good things about their service manager. With some service centers apparently providing 3rd world service! Not Coldwater MI though - They ROCK!!!
Maybe, but my experience so far is more Kabul than MonacoHey… it’s a first world car! lol
All the economic indicators are pointing to a slow business environment for EVs in general, and Lucid in particular. My lease is up in three months. Steve. That’s great! I hope I get the same offer. Where is the location that offered you that?My lease is up in three months. Distance they can't be knocked for. The inability to answer the phone? That they can definitely be knocked for!The service center being an hour away was known when you signed up for the car, so you can't knock Lucid for that. I was clear headed going in, knowing that the ownership experience wasn't going to be like it is with BMW (from what I hear, lol). I've never used service, but can't you schedule from the app or online? Maybe try a different tool if calling is not working. Or drive a little further to Rocklin.
Yes I obviously knew the distance going in. I was not prepared for their lack of attention and responsiveness. As well as their seemingly lack of interest in leasing me another lucid. They emailed and texted me 1 week ago to discuss and I replied I was interested. I’ve not heard back from them.Distance they can't be knocked for. The inability to answer the phone? Let's be realistic, Lucid finished Q4 with 3.38 months of inventory. This is not out of line for the auto industry but I would like to a direct to consumer company have just under three months of inventory. They have not suspended custom orders for all of 2026, only until the 2027 model is released. The sky is not falling. Lucid's production guidance for 2026 is below the Q4 run rate so I do not expect any layoffs in production since they were not part of the layoffs already announced. All the economic indicators are pointing to a slow business environment for EVs in general, and Lucid in particular.
Lucid exited 2025 with a significant amount of inventory on hand. With the many lease returns, the used Air market seems saturated. In the near term, the world economy is not conducive for growth (except in the defense industry). Lucid seems to have suspended custom configurations for the balance of 2026, indicative of high inventory they need to sell through. Inasmuch as they want to stay the course on their 2026 build-plan, I have a feeling they will need to cut production soon (factory hiatus or layoffs) if the economy doesn't pick up.
Lucid is not the only auto/EV maker facing the headwinds. But financially, Lucid is more exposed than others.
Ever been to Kabul? Most people are overwhelmingly kind and very community-oriented, but I can guarantee you are far, far from having a “Kabul experience” lolMaybe, but my experience so far is more Kabul than Monaco
There's obviously a reason why they do it but I really don't understand why they allow people to custom order then seem to do a whole bunch of batches of cars that have a specific configuration and try and convince people to take those instead. You can see from the many posts on here that people are finding the inventory to be missing 1 or 2 packages that they want so they won't take it.Let's be realistic, Lucid finished Q4 with 3.38 months of inventory. you folks are lucky to be near service centers for your vehicles. I can only chuckle when I read an hour is too far. Prior vehicles between my wife and I over the last dozen years or so: Porsches 2-3 hours, Acura 2 hours, infinity 2-3 hours and guess what, Lucid 2 hours. We do have Benz and Volvo in town Rivian was an hour out. I had to flatbed my first gen panamera twice, the wife's infinity once that distance, independent of regular service - still bought another Porsche (911) and still serviced 2-2.5 hours away for the closest dealerships. That part of owner ship sure is not fun, but when you purchase the vehicle you want, you pretty much know what you are dealing with, should you need assistance.Agreed. Over an hour away for service is just too far.
You are right, not a good idea to stereotype people or places. My bad experience with this car has led me to say things I'd normally criticize other people for saying them.Ever been to Kabul? Most people are overwhelmingly kind and very community-oriented, but I can guarantee you are far, far from having a “Kabul experience” lol
Didn’t happen to get this in writing? If so can you DM this to me? My SA told me that they’ve never done nor seen anything like it.My lease is up in three months.
