2023 Lucid Touring
Having leased a new Air Touring almost 3 years ago, I am reviewing my options.i have’s loved the car in terms of looks, speed, comfort and room. However Lucid is doing all they can to make it as difficult as possible for me to lease a new one, preferably a GT.
The nearest service site is in Millbrae over an hour away. I recently called to reschedule a service appointment and left 6 messages with no return call over a 2 week time. When leaving the car there in the past, it usually takes 1-2 weeks for them to even look at the car to even start to do any work. They seem extremely short staffed.
Since my lease is up in July, I would have expected them to entice me to lease another. Audi, Mercedes snd BMW have all reached out when my lease is coming due to offer some financial incentives to lease from them again. Lucid sales did contact me today but never returned my call. I even emailed Erwin Raphael, Head of Sales, with no response. I even offered to pay of the last few months of my lease if they would waive the destination charge and some other pure profit items. It seems they are doing their hardest to push me to not lease another Lucid.

Sales and service in Millbrae, California

East Bay Walnut Creek area. Millbrae is the closest. Heard rumor a service center opening in a year or so in Danville but who knows.

No matter what my location, here I am wanting to give them my money for a new car, give them a used car with 17k miles in perfect condition and I can’t get their attention!
Oh I’m not defending their lack of response; that’s really unusual, but it can certainly happen. I was just suggesting trying another location as they may be more responsive / available. I know Millbrae has been short-staffed recently.

So you are trying to get “ extra “ discounts for re-leasing a Lucid? No harm trying I guess, but they do offer a 2k loyalty discount which seems reasonable. Why do you expect them to give more discounts? Looks like you like the car a lot.

Yes the 2k is nice for sure. All other car companies offer incentives to end your lease early other than just paying the remaining balance. Especially if I’m willing to pay the last 3 months and they deduct the Destination, Acquisition and Documentation fees. Yes I do enjoy the car but again, not only is sales an issue, but service as well.

I’m in the far East Bay and have never had a problem. Between Milbrae, Rocklin, and mobile service I’ve always been able to get an appointment for minor things within a couple weeks and anything major right away. But someone should absolutely be at least returning your call.

Never tried Rocklin which is 1’35” from me. Millbrae is “only” 1 hr. I’m just saying Lucid responsiveness to me has been poor.

Rocklin is my closest showroom and my SA was great while completing a lease on a Gravity in January. Coordinated an inventory car transported from San Jose to Rocklin for pickup so I didn’t have to drive down to San Jose. I also needed to have my liftgate looked at, called service and was able to get an appt. within 2 days. So far Rocklin has been great. It may be farther away, but might be worth looking into.

I wouldn't be surprised if Lucid has sold a lot more vehicles in the SF Bay Area than in Sacramento, and so Rocklin might be less overloaded, even though Lucid has a larger operation in the Bay Area.

The East Bay Walnut Creek area is exactly the demographic that Lucid is trying to sell cars to. When people ask about my car, which is all the time, the biggest turnoff for them is the lack of a local service center. Every other company selling to that demographic has a showroom and service center within 10 minutes from there.

Is there even a Tesla service center in Walnut Creek?

Well I guess 15” is close enough.
They also have showroom in downtown Walnut Creek. Rivian has showroom there as well . Rivian service in Martinez, 15” away.

I couldn’t care less about showrooms. Service centers are what’s important.
