I love that I have to fix a brand new car under warranty myself. I live just north of San Francisco and there are no service appointments available within 100 miles of where I live. Both Millbrae and San Jose show nothing in the next 3 months and no ability to actually pick anything after that. Roseville, over 100 miles away, has appointments a month out. How are people dealing with this?
I’ve had a few minor issues and one major-ish issue. The minor issue is a rattling sub that was unfortunately fixed with an aftermarket sub in the trunk and non opening frunk (w/o help) fixed by attaching loose trim panels at the leading edge of the hood. The bigger issue was a non functional driver side wiper. The passenger wiper would cross over the base of the driver wiper and get stuck at the top of its stroke. This basically made the car undriveable in the rain. With no reasonable service appointments available I had to investigate the issue on my own. Thankfully it was an easy fix. The securing nut was only finger tight. Nipped that up and back on the road. Thankfully I have the proper tools to deal with it. I’m sure my other Lucid owning neighbors don’t.
I’ve got some other issues related to key recognition that I can’t fix on my own. When I take out the trash the car will unlock every time. When I want to go for a drive I sometimes times stand at the driver door for sometimes up to 2 minutes trying to get the car to unlock. It’s super fun in the rain. It doesn’t matter if I have the fob or not. With the phone app sometimes the car an endless circle of waking up. What do people do when they can’t make an appointment locally?
