Search only goes back 2 months

I did a search for my own posts and posts older than 2 months are not found. I get zero posts before March 21 (today is May 23).

Is this a bug or expected behavior?

I couldn't search within a thread earlier today. Regardless of which term I searched for, it returned zero results. I gave up and used Google.
