2025 Lucid Air Touring
I originally posted this problem in the Air “charging” forum but it was implied that I was “hijacking” that forum which evidently was only about charging connectors and their location on the car. Anyway here I am. My problem is with scheduling charging on the car at home. It has worked well since my purchase last May. However recently when I try to set it up at night for a 12:30 AM start it starts charging right away. I am trying to avoid the higher evening PG&E charges as they are more expensive. I’ve rebooted the car without success. I have read that the latest 2.9.0 update May address this issue. (Don’t get me started on updating the Lucid with their intermittent new software releases.). Any other suggestions?
Thanks.

Sorry, to be clear - this is now posted in the wrong forum. I will move it for you.

The forum is made up of categories; you originally posted it in the right category, but on someone else’s thread. You have made your own thread here, which is good, but in the wrong category. I’ve moved it for you.

If it sounds like we’re being annoying, I promise it’s just because we try to keep this place somewhat organized.

Where did you move it to?
Thanks

It was under Lucid Vehicles > Lucid Air > Air: Software & Firmware

now it's under Lucid Vehicles > Lucid Air > Air: Charging

Just for testing purposes, have you tried setting a different time to charge?

Mine has been starting charging at the scheduled 11:05pm like clockwork. I usually plug in between 6-10pm. I don't think it has ever failed to start. I'm using the Lucid mobile charger at 40A.

Give that a try for a night or two if you haven't already. It will at least narrow down if the time itself is the issue.

You might also try setting it to start even later, like 2am. Again not suggesting you need to keep it there, just to test to help try to narrow down if the chosen time is the problem. (Helps Lucid fix the bug if you figure out that's the problem)

Also, it is possible the connection between the EVSE and the car might be inconsistent, and thus the car doesn't start charging because at that moment the car doesn't think it's plugged in? Maybe if there's a nearby L2 charger (a friend or a public charger) you can set a start time (doesn't have to by after midnight, just set it to start a few minutes after you plug it in) and see if it starts properly when it's a different charger. That would point to or eliminate the charger itself being part of the problem.

That's the standard troubleshooting procedure, trying to narrow down and eliminate what the possible causes might be one piece at a time.

If that doesn't help, then I would recommend calling customer support or the service center.

JVSB, I have the exact same problem with my 2026 Lucid Air. I have charging scheduled to start at 9:00pm, but whenever I plug it in the car begins charging immediately. I have to disconnect the charger, then reinsert, for the charging to start at its scheduled time. I am using a Tesla wall charger with Lecrton NACS to J1772 adapter.

i have exact same issue.

I have the same issue - I have a schedule, I plug in, it immediately charges (not respecting the charging window). I get an error saying something like "Lucid does not do scheduled charging with this device" on my phone.

I get some weird "this may be because you're using a Gen2 Tesla home charger" when I ChatGPT this. WHY would that matter - why is it difficult for Lucid to respect the scheduled window regardless of the charger being used?

I found this today at https://lucidmotors.com/knowledge/v...ing-your-lucid-air#plugging-in-and-unplugging. Another possible solution to Scheduling not working.
-----------------------------
Scheduled Charging and Digital AC Chargers
Lucid Air’s Scheduled Charging feature is not compatible with AC chargers that communicate digitally with your vehicle due to the technical limitations of these charging stations. Even if you enable Scheduled Charging and set a charging time, when you plug in to a digital AC charging station, charging will begin immediately. You will receive a push notification to alert you that your vehicle is charging, so that you can decide to unplug or stop charging from the Lucid mobile app.

To identify whether your home’s AC charger is a digital AC charger, check the technical documentation or spec sheet that came with it. If it states that the charger supports ISO15118 communication, it’s a digital charger and will not work with Lucid’s Scheduled Charging feature.

I don’t get this at all. I have two EVs and a Tesla charger at home. My Lucid refuses to honor the schedule charging feature, maybe for the reason you just posted. But my other car, a Hyundai Genesis (for goodness sake) schedules charging with the same equipment just fine.
