Title aside, the picture is clearly a Lucid
It looks sort of like one, but the picture is hazy. @californiaboy935, weird sense of humor! That's close to home for me. I'm trying to think of the people with red Lucids in San Diego. I hope we haven't lost someone I know.

Oh, it wasn't meant to be humorous, I usually hear it at funerals. I just played it to honor our fallen brother or sister. I too hope we haven't lost anyone we know. But the loss of anyone is terrible.

I own a Tesla Model S and a Lucid Air. The car looks to me to be a Tesla.

For one thing, the red car has a black door handle, as do newer Teslas. Lucid door handles match the body color. (You can dimly make out the door handle on the picture posted on the ABC Channel 10 website in San Diego.)

And I wouldn't be so quick to dismiss cops as not knowing car brands. For one thing, they stop a LOT of cars. Also, one of the first things a cop would do at an accident scene is run the license plate of the car which would indicate the make of the car.

How do you explain the cutouts on the hood?

The door handles alone is enough to determine it's a Lucid, also I am very nosy and watch my service techs do maintenance on my Lucid and I recognize many of those front pieces, and parts under the frunk. To me personally it definitely appears to be a Lucid.

I own a Zenith Red Lucid Air. It does not have black door handles. Our white Tesla Model S does. This handle is also the shape of our Tesla handles.

Also, the accident was investigated by California Highway Patrol, not local police. I simply do not believe the Highway Patrol in California cannot distinguish between a Tesla and a Lucid.

This is sad period. But I agree that I don't think it's an Air because of handles and wheels.

And, most obvious of all, that car is not Zenith Red, which is actually a deep burgundy that appears almost black at night. It's Tesla's newer red color.

Funny how Lucid Air owners can't even tell what their own cars look like....those are definitely the 20" wheel option without covers, you can see the curved screen coming out of the windshield, AND most obviously are the vent cutouts.
