Rivian R2 doesn’t have FM/HD radio

I wouldn't have guessed that the presence of FM radio in a car would eventually be a spec point. Goes along with the decline in broadcast TV and audio in favor of streaming media I suppose.

Thanks for the clarification. I just saw an FM dial and a list of available channels (all local) and just assumed it was real FM. Not a fan of needing to pay a subscription to listen to free radio stations. Guess I'm falling behind the times in how I view things related to pay to play.

I know... The thing is that you end up paying it anyway because it's the same data connection you need for navigation, Tidal, etc. As @borski said, it'll be coming to Lucid eventually (it's stated in the purchase agreement).

Shouldn’t be surprising. Data costs money. It’ll come to Lucid eventually too.

From the manual, to access the basic stations, you don't need Connect+, you'll need it if you want Atmos and other services. But definitely a monetization play on Rivian's part.

Also no Lidar this year, and software missing quite a few features like … why would anyone buy this year unless desperate?

“The features missing at launch include Rivian Assistant, Climate Hold, and Pet Mode. Gear Guard will be present but with limited functionality. The SiriusXM app will not be available at launch, and neither will Google Casting or YouTube. And if you like camping, there’s no Camp Mode app either.”
