Recommended Touring mi/kWh to use with ABRP?

Planning a trip from Cleveland to Wilmington NC end of June & wanted to see what other Touring owners with 20" wheels use as a safe number for the mi/kWh setting for summer travel. My lifetime average has been 3.2, but haven't road tripped before & want to mitigate possible remaining range issues.

I'm also using max charging at 80% and factoring in state of charge at destination...any other tips would be welcome!

It asks for efficiency at 60 mph, right (or maybe 65)? So you'll want to use a number higher than 3.2. I think I actually use a number like 4.0 or 4.5 for my 2023 Pure which is similar to the Touring.

It seems to me that setting it slightly lower would be the conservative thing to do. Efficiency is decreased at faster speeds and I assume that you'll be driving at mostly highway (and faster) speed. However, you can reassess after a few charges. You may be pleasantly surprised!

3.3 mi / kWh is my average (20k miles/3years)

Philadelphia, PA area. 21" summer tires 6 months then 19" A/S tires in winter.

You should be closer to 4.0

Agree with @scal air ... you'll be pleasantly surprised at how efficient the Air is at constant highway speed.

The key thing you didn't say is how fast you drive when you are traveling on highways. Without that, it's hard to give you a figure. 80 MPH vs. 65 MPH makes a world of difference. Your average of 3.2 suggests that your foot might have a little lead in it.

I'd use your lifetime average of 3.2. I find (Pure AWD 19inch wheels) that highway efficiency (I generally travel at 74 indicated, 72 actual) and around town efficiency are fairly close. My lifetime is 3.6 and it's rare that long highway runs are much higher than that.

Agree with @Pragmatic. That time of year should be plenty warm and give good range. But start conservatively and adjust if appropriate based on your speed and efficiency in the early stages of the trip.

I also tend to live in the lower SOC on long trips so that when I do plug in, I get higher charge speeds at least initially. I'm frequently plugging in when my SOC is single digits. Might not be great for the battery health. But like charging to 100, I don't do long trips and charge like that often. Most of the time I'm between 20-80%

On long trips I rarely stop with SOC above 7. I will leave at 100 but then only charge to 60 or 65 while on the road otherwise I stopped too long. I figure 6 - 65 makes for faster travelling than 20 - 80.

Watching the Cannonball Run video of the Lucid Air I learned how to fast trip: Lucid Cannonball Run

Charge to the break in the curve ( ~ 80% ) and dash off to single-digit SOC, then charge for 10 or 15 minutes and dash off to the next charger.

I generally charge to 80% when I'm tripping. Charge to 90+% at home the night before.
