I searched and couldn't find an answer - apologies if I missed it.

I've been using the charging bale that came with my wife's Volvo S60 Recharge on my 2025 Air GT with no issues. Sure, it takes a while but it's fast enough for my needs. Would not be true at 120V....

She is going on a road trip with her cable.

I have the Lucid charge cable - but it has no NEMA 6-20 plug and no apparent way to be told to throttle back to <20A at 240V.

Does anyone have a recommendation for a charger/cable?

Any help would be appreciated!

A web search for "nema 6-20 evse" brings up several possibilities.
Thanks... I was hoping someone in the Forum had direct experience with one. When I look online at reviews, most of the units have both good reviews and a good-sized set of bad reviews... I think I'll just shop for another Volvo mobile cable that comes with the NEMA 6-20. I had hoped to be able to swap the NEMA 50 connector on the Lucid but it assumes either a NEMA 50 or a 110v supply and can't manage anything else.

I saw that the ClipperCreek LCS 20 is well regarded but not manufactured anymore? I did see them on ebay, with this seller offering new units for $250 plus shipping.

Not a recommendation, but on a random search, one under $100 seems to be ok.

There are 2 who rated 1/5: 1. Cable too short. 2. Using higher amperage against the OEM recommendation resulted in a burnt plastic smell.

The OP has a 20A circuit, so would want the LCS-20...except that it does not have an option to come with a 6-20 plug.

I also wonder if @DeaneG or @borski have concerns about using an Air Conditioner outlet for continuous 16A use, similar to the well known problems of 14-50 Dryer outlets?

Hi... Thanks! I installed a single outlet heavy duty 6-20 outlet for use with the Volvo charging cable -- no issues/nothing gets warm when charging my Lucid AGT. I haven't needed a faster charge than this provides... I think non-support for a 6-20 option is a "miss" for the Lucid charging cable...

I was going to suggest the Volvo EVSE for a 6-20 option. I use mine with my Air sometimes, it came with our XC90 Hybrid, works fine.

Thanks - that's the direction I'm going with since I know it works perfectly with my AGT and it's very portable/not a "station"

My first true post and to help a fellow Lucid owner!

I went through your 6-20 situation. Here is what I did. It's not cheap, but to what I know (I had my friend who's an electrical engineer give advice) it's safe.

I have the Tesla portable charger. It's one the few EVSC that's UL rated. They have a lot of different plug adapters, including the 6-20 one. You can check eBay, that's where I got mine.

You would also have to buy a Tesla adapter. I bought the mini 60amp one from Amazon (figured I may end up using it on roadtrips. There is the teslatap which is cheaper).

This is my setup. I have a plug in hybrid that it worked well with before I got my Lucid. It has worked with my Lucid with no issues so far. I do not drive a ton, so I only charge overnight once a week. But it should work, even if you were charging overnight daily.

PS: My friend said do NOT get most of the Amazon EVSC. Almost all of them were an absolute no in his book. There was 2 that were ETL listed that he didn't love, but "would probably be okay." He urged me to find something UL listed just to be safe, given the horror stories you can read in the comments of some of the non-rated EVSCs.

Hope this helps!

Many thanks... Appreciate the info.
I wanted to avoid a "charge station" - which knocked out a lot of EV chargers on Amazon, etc.
Ultimately I Ebay'ed a Volvo charging cable which I know works, is pretty well built, and has the 6-20 plug.
Enjoy your Lucid!
