I just saw at Lucid website that RangeXChanger Adapter will be shipped starting from August and can be ordered now.

But the description below made me confused:

* RangeXchange Charging Adapter requires a V2V capable Lucid 40A Mobile Charging Cable. Cables supplied with Lucid Air MY 22-24 are not V2V capable, an updated 2nd generation cable is required.

So does that mean they are only selling Exchange cable and it doesnt come with Mobile Charging cable?

And my understanding is we cannot use this cable with our current Mobile Charger unit:((

That is correct, a new mobile adapter would need to be purchased for the RangeXChange adapter to function properly. Guess at some point, ‘new’ models might come with the appropriate mobile charger to only need the Xchange adapter and not another mobile charger
*edit (said adapter too many times)

When I ordered the range Xchange, they asked for my VIN. Since my car, and mobile charger, were an older model, they sent a new mobile charger unit with the range xchange. So now I have the original mobile charger and the upgraded one for the range xchange. I assume that they are now just sending the adapter and if you need an updated mobile charger piece, that would be additional. It is much cheaper to produce the adapter than to send the whole charging unit.

If No one has the new chargers (till model year 2025) why even sell it separately Like all 100 people who have 2025 can use it. The 1000s of previous owners can't use it, doesn't make sense. There should be an "upgrade" packager for pre '25 owners.

Any new cars and those produced since the range xchange came out are able to use the adapter on the mobile charger unit. It is only the earlier models that wound need an entire new mobile charger.

I believe Lucid specifically states cars until and including MY24 are shipped with chargers that are not compatible. My charger has gone bad recently and the new replacement they provided is not bi-directional either. It is only available to be ordered through the store, since they no longer shop it with MY25 vehicles.
