RangeXchange and EcoFlow EV X-Stream for pseudo V2H

I think working v2g, v2h use, even if just bi-directional j1772 at 40 amps, 9.6kw would be something that would really increase interest people in a lucid vehicle. This is a missed opportunity, as a fair number of people are looking for a vehicle they can use for energy storage, that can charge at night with TOU rates or store solar, and then use it to power their home in an emergency (or just the house at night). None of the other top end vehicles (other than a f150ev) has this working, and the f150ev installation seems to be extremely expensive.

Am I the only one seeing this opportunity? I have an old Tesla, I've been looking at lucid and also just heard about this feature.

It's one of the reasons I bought my Air 18 months ago!

Sorry to bump an old thread, but I just wanted to confirm that the EV X-stream adapter works perfectly with Lucid's Range Xchange adapter! I was able to quickly top up my Ecoflow Delta Pro 3 with 4kW charging input.

This setup isn't perfect since the Delta Pro 3 cannot accept EV input while also outputting 240v, so I'd need to power off my home whenever I need to top up the batteries. At least this will help out for now until Lucid makes V2H available (hopefully next year, fingers crossed)!

DId anyone try charging GV60 or ioniq 5 or EV 6 using rangeXchange and simultaneously using the 2kW 110v outlet in GV60 or ioniq 5 or EV 6? Indirectly using Lucid for powering part of the house like a fridge and some lights or microwave and some lights.

Did you separately purchase the second-gen charging cable ($650!) to pull this off or do you have a newer model. I noticed that on the Lucid website, it says, "* RangeXchange Charging Adapter requires a V2V capable Lucid 40A Mobile Charging Cable. Cables supplied with Lucid Air MY 22-24 are not V2V capable, an updated 2nd generation cable is required." Since the 2025 model year Airs are not yet available, this left me scratching my head.

I purchased the new charging cable v2 and range xchange adapter as part of my $1000 charging credit when I leased my Lucid this past month. I didn't opt for the Lucid charger as I already have a chargepoint Flex; I'm eager to use Lucid's V2H capabilities and I know it'll require the official Lucid charger at that point, but I decided to just wait it out in case that also would require a "v2" wall charger just like the mobile charging adapter needed a v2. You have to purchase the v2 cable separately, as I believe 2025 onward Lucid isn't even supplying a cable anymore... unless I am mistaken about that. Regardless, I have a 2024 so I knew my included cable wouldn't be compatible.

I would love to use my 6000 reward points to purchase the new 2nd gen cable since I don't need anything else. I see the home charger on the rewards site any chance Lucid adds the mobile charger since I already bought the Range Xchange before they said we needed a new cable and I don't want to have to return it?

Those aren’t on the rewards site at the moment; sounds like @bakerjin got theirs using the $1k new car charger credit.

Try filling out https://rewards.lucidmotors.com/contact-us/

I have no idea if that will do anything, but it’s worth a shot!

Did I just get really lucky? Mine was $144 and I got it late November. It’s already paid for itself since I charge for free at work then charge my wife’s PHEV off the RangeXChange at home. Nice to know there’s a way to charge a backup home battery also! Just get two batteries if you can’t run one while charging it, use one during the blackout while Lucid charges the other. The lucid battery in terms of kW is like 10 Tesla power walls, totally worth it.

I think this might actually be a more convenient and also cheaper solution than any future V2H implementation. If you got the EcoFlow3 with extra battery and adapter your total outlay is less than $6K and you don’t need to modify your house electrical etc. So charge the EcoFlow backup battery off the Lucid, then go drive to wherever there’s power and charge the lucid again if you need more backup power. This actually beats V2H cuz with V2H you can’t power your house while driving away in your EV!

Do you need a transfer switch?

Do you need a transfer switch?
I prefer interlock + inlet over transfer switch for customization, but transfer switches (both manual and automatic) are definitely more user friendly if you don't want to remember which breakers to flip. I'm only using these batteries in case of emergency in which case I only want to run my kitchen and living room (fridge, internet, lights, fans, etc). The Delta Pro 3 has split phase 240v output but only at 4kw, so it's not enough for most AC units. Lucid's V2H would most likely be able to charge my home at 12kw or more, so it'd be easily able to run AC along with most other things (though it may be recommended to install a soft start anyway).

Nice thing about Delta Pro 3 is that you can eventually get a 2nd unit if it goes on sale later on and then get a 50amp hub to run them in parallel, for a total of 8kw continuous output. That's enough for most essentials including AC in my home at least. I chose this over DPU because it's more portable and I have a detached garage in Texas, so storing batteries in 110 deg heat isn't a great idea.
