sorry everyone... My caps are enthusiasm... not yelling... If you knew me it would make more sense. I will go back to being a resource if needed from anyone. Happy to help.
AutoNation lol I bought a BMW from them a few months ago, what a nightmare of mismanagement that was.I knew this would trigger.... hahaha not my intention.... but why not say.... SELECT GOOD DEALERS.... WITH REPUTATIONS FOR CUSTOMER SERVICE.... PENSKE AUTONATION ETC?
May I ask, why did you buy from them?AutoNation lol I bought a BMW from them a few months ago, what a nightmare of mismanagement that was.
They had the car I wanted, out of state buyerMay I ask, why did you buy from them?
Have you purchased from them before?
Will you buy from them again?
This. I love my Air, but the short warranty really worries me. so I probably won't buy out my lease. OTOH, I would buy an off-lease Air w/ extended CPO warranty. Now imagine if Lucid forced THEMSELVES to purchase more cars and Certified them, came up with a TRUE certified program which included MORE WARRANTY TIME THAN THEY CURRENTLY OFFER an explanation of what was completed low 1.9 2.9 3.9% rates to purchase?? Would you pay more for that car? OF COURSE YOU WOULD. That would slowly drive resale up on the Lucid which helps all of us, and makes for MUCH CHEAPER LEASES in the future because the future resale value is increased.
I purchased a warranty for mine... happy to help. After my recent service experience with my Gravity, I would welcome a similar dealer experience I have with my other car, a Mercedes. I have 4 different Mercedes dealers within reasonable drive of me and can choose which one I use for service. I chose to purchase the car at one dealership due to it having color/option combo I wanted. But then I now have it serviced at a different dealer due to it having a better service experience. Since the dealers are independent, they compete against each other for your service. Yes, out of warranty work can be expensive but at least I was able to purchase an extended warranty at car purchase, which is not possible with Lucid.
Oh might I add that I would not deal with the local BMW dealer here for any reason except warranty. I would use AutoNation over them all day.May I ask, why did you buy from them?

No worries, I think we can all see you’re well-meaning. Just worth noting: on most Internet forums (as well as email, text, etc.) all caps is generally seen as SHOUTING rather than enthusiasm. Thus, you can imagine people being turned off if they read it that way. Nobody likes getting yelled at.sorry everyone... My caps are enthusiasm... not yelling... I bought XCare for my i7, id heard good things about them.I purchased a warranty for mine... happy to help.
I love that someone ((who made money at the dealership and actually cares)) stepped in to help you the client. Some of my best clients were customers that either myself or someone here at the dealership pissed off. hahaOh might I add that I would not deal with the local BMW dealer here for any reason except warranty. Yeah see I can tell right now I would buy a car from you.I love that someone ((who made money at the dealership and actually cares)) stepped in to help you the client. Some of my best clients were customers that either myself or someone here at the dealership pissed off. haha
Thank you! I dont sell them anymore.... I am one of those super scarry finance guys... Hahah do a google search "Christian Harding Finance Manager" most of the people have nice things to say about me. The other ones are jerks!! (Kidding)Yeah see I can tell right now I would buy a car from you.
not a huge fan of endurance. They spend way more money advertising then they do paying for repairs. Plus they are the kings of deceptive telemarketing. Just my .02. X care is nice because there are no mile limits. But there are several individual repair constraints and aggregate total repair limits. The whole no single repair can exceed the market value for the vehicle thing scares me. IE hv battery... or as the car ages and the value decreases.... see what I am saying?I bought XCare for my i7, id heard good things about them.
Yes. Who do you like? I think I can cancel it and get a refund if there’s something better but their rate was good.not a huge fan of endurance. Those ARE reasons from a business perspective. Hiring/managing people, providing good service at fair and profitable prices, working hard to help customers - those are all business reasons. Problem is, the vast, vast majority of dealerships suck and treat everything like a one time transaction. Perhaps you are an exception, but who knows - every dealer proclaims that they do it different and they do it better. How would franchise dealers help Lucid at all, other than perhaps having more service locations or giving them place to dump excess inventory? Even with Tesla, no one had to buy an EV - and dealers to this day fight their ability to sell direct.sadly you didnt play my game well.... All of what you said had to do with HUMAN INTERATIONS... FROM A BUSINESS PERSPECTIVE.... Give me 5 reasons a dealer body is a bad idea? I am telling you as a guy 30 years working in dealership as a guy that does "Financing games" as you say, the human element can be corrected with strict manufacture guidelines and just hiring good people. Dealerships with deceptive practices GET SHUT DOWN we see it all the time. Dealerships with a sincere desire to elevate the experience such as at Penske (where I work) THRIVE...
Bad people ALWAYS have a way of working themselves out....
SO AGAIN give me 5 reasons why a dealership model DOES NOT WORK from a business perspective. How does it not help a company like Lucid??
Tesla only survived because it was the only game in town initially when it came to EV's and now they are TOO BIG TO FAIL.... That is not Lucid... so before you say it Tesla is a different beast...
I would say that depends on the competition. The local BMW, Toyota, Cadillac and Lexus dealers here are owned by a family of absolute crooks with an awful reputation, but they are too powerful to do anything about them. We had Larry Millers which were great, but they got sold off after an inherticance to some vulture group (Auburn maybe?) thats ruining their repuation.I am telling you as a guy 30 years working in dealership as a guy that does "Financing games" as you say, the human element can be corrected with strict manufacture guidelines and just hiring good people.
Great points...as much as dealerships suck, they at least provide easy servicability. But dealerships dont make sense for EVs. Dealers make money off servicing. These cars hardly need servicing. Of Lucid was to go the delaership route, they wouild lose more money on the cars they are selling due to much higher dealer markup compared to ICE vehicles.oh I am aware they are not separate entities. Obviously. However way to many BofA lease returns are making it onto the open market. These cars being purchased by carvana and not being reconditioned are being sold for slim profits with little attention to resale value.
My point is that only the "bad ones" should be on the wholesale market. The good ones should be resold BY LUCID. Re-coned BY LUCID. Lucid needs to show more support to its brand and be the primary reason the brand is profitable.
HAHAHAHA PERHAPS INSTEAD OF TAKING THE COMPANY PRIVATE THEY SHOULD CONSIDER SELLING DEALERSHIPS?? Perhaps Direct to Consumer ISNT the way to go??? ((Oh that is going to trigger some responses)).... However hear me out, There is a lack of customer service when you dont have dealers... There is NO RUSH on ANYTHING to solve problems usually....No customer service. NO ASS KISSING.... Just look at Tesla and Rivian... The lack of customer service within those companies is BONKERS... THAT WOULD INSTANTLY CHANGE WITH A DEALERSHIP. WE LOVE TO A$$KISS! With a dealer step there are NO CARS SITTING AT PORT NOT SOLD They are all sold to dealerships and sitting on their lots, THEY need to figure out how to move them. The manufacture has an additional revenue stream with flooring the cars on a credit line for the dealers. Everyone wins (except for the small group of former Saturn owners that think car dealerships are filled with criminals and cheats... the "BAD GUYS"
Perhaps Lucid needs to consider a dealer body.... Just sayin.... WE know how to sell cars.... and the building of dealerships and service centers go to the dealerships that want to invest in the brand and capture the profits.
I purchased a warranty for mine... happy to help.
Tesla disrupted an industry that needed disruption. And you’re right, dealers are still mad about their model. Customers seem pretty happy though. How about - cost structure, lack of control over franchise dealers, loss of brand reputation due to dealer games like ADM or shitty service….
If you think the best dealers can rise to the top by competing for business and providing the best offerings/prices/service, then get rid of all the archaic laws that protect dealer franchises and stop fighting the efforts to sell direct to consumer. Compete in an open market and not with legislative cover.
You can shear a sheep and get wool for life, or you can skin the sheep once. Which one do you think describes most dealers?
