Production ramp DE; paint batching order

Not sure if this is news or not: Was told at my test drive today by two different reps from Millbrae that first DEs off the line will be Aurora Green and Black. White will come “slightly later”. I don’t believe interior choice or wheel choice changes order.

They implied green and black simultaneous (probably two paint lines)… didn’t mean to imply it was first green, then black, then white. It’s “green and black first”, white slightly later.

Did they have a black one there to see? I ordered white but have been wondering if I'd like black more (pretty much like none of the color options for the DE so trying to pick the least offensive lol).

no black today at VFSJ. Both test drive cars were green as was the new showroom one.

I haven't seen any of them in person--just the little samples in the showroom. Driving up next Saturday to Newport Beach to do my test drive (almost flew up today to San Jose but decided that was overkill vs waiting a week). I already caved on the ugly orange interior (sticking by my view on that which I have seen in person lol)--just been trying to decide between the black (throwing away $1K of "value") and white as to which would look filthiest, and, of course the answer is both of them so maybe I should wait to see the green in person .

Haha yeah - you may still not like it, but give it a shot. It really does look different in person. It’s similar to the Zenith Red on the Air in that sense; not the same kind of light play but it’s hard to photograph right.
