Interesting that even VW group who made a separate division for software is having issues.

VW Group is a hot mess when it comes to software. It also seems they’ve got no clue how to get out of the software mess that Cariad has created. That article alone says 1.2 for the Macan is a problem while they’re working on 2.0 neither of which have been released. How about dumping one and put all efforts into making 2.0 work for all.

This just shows how far ahead the likes of Tesla and Lucid are. Lucid basically did a whole rewrite in 11 months and pushed many OTA’s out in the interim. Yet, the Macan has to be delayed until 2024. I got burned by Audi making false promises with the e-Tron, VW owners got burned with shoddy software on the ID4, Taycan owners got burned by believing false promises like Audi.

There is a pattern with VW Group. They tell people what they want to hear but never actually deliver on those promises.

The Mercedes EQS software is very good. Much better than Lucid, so far.

Mercedes doesn’t belong to VW Group. Mercedes should have very good software, they’ve been around for decades.
