Hey all, sorry if this has already been asked before. But, wanted something more recent specially with most recent software updates such as 3.5.1.

I’m coming from an awful experience with Polestar and that’s what made me weary with the Gravity, what if it happened again? But, I do love so much about the car, from tech behind it to the raw numbers. My other choice would be to get the Model X before it’s discontinued. With per kWh prices set to rise even further in my area, free supercharging is a decent bonus I guess I could use. Plus FSD for trips is nice, I kind of missed that from the Tesla world.

Anyway, curious for those of you who came from post 2022 MX. what do you love about the Gravity? Do you notice that it drives that much better? How’s the overall ownership experience now that software has seemingly stabilized?
 
I did, a couple of times. But not back to back. I think the familiarity of Tesla software plus FSD (had one for years before polestar) is what made me think that maybe a decent idea.
 
Model X Plaid is an absolute beast. Refinement isn’t anywhere near the Gravity and the falcon doors are dumb, but the performance and software are unparalleled still. Depends on what is most important to you and what you are willing to put up with - for either car.
 
My cousin who is a physician traded her Model X for a Gravity. She says no comparison in terms of build quality, ride and performance. She said the software has been rocky since her purchase but last two updates were solid and she is happy.

Plus I think Tesla has lost focus on building cars. I went from a Model S to an Air GT... would not go back to a Tesla. $.02.
 
I traded in a 2024 MX for the Gravity. When things work as expected, it's a much better car in every aspect except for software features (maps, streaming apps, self closing doors). When it doesn't work as expected, it can be a super frustrating experience.
 
But is that experience e better now? I’ve heard much better things with recent versions.
 
Traded in our 2020 Model X (not sure how much was updated by 2022). Had a ton of battery issues requiring a full battery replacement. Also the doors. Omg the doors were so annoyingly slow and buggy. Ride quality was poor as well. By the end it was creaking like a pirate ship.

Gravity - six months in, software is dialing in but has plenty to improve there. Ride quality is incredible. Love the car.

Its a no brainer, unless you want FSD...which is not foolproof BTW. Just get the Gravity. Software is continually being improved. The Model X being discontinued, you will have issues with repairs down the line- lack of parts. Also, its a very old design...no improvements since Musk lost interest in Mode S and X. Why spend 100k on a discontinued car????
 
Same. I was following closely for over a year and originally decided on polestar 3 last minute. After having all of the issues I figured I’d just go with the X but seeing how minor the refresh was and how much they’ve raised the cost on something that doesn’t seem that premium threw me off.
 
That’s a very good point and what has me put a large pause on it. Yes FSD is nice, but in the 5 years I’ve had it, I found it a bit annoying at times as it’d change lanes too often, or just do odd things when all I really wanted was something to stay in the lane.

Financially, it’s also harder to justify to me. The Plaid I really don’t want to spend that much on. The AWD to get the 3.99% I’d need to put about $13k down and my monthly will be $100 more than Gravity GT with every option other than power and towing. Then, rough estimate that in 39 months I’d actually be in good amount of negative equity on it. So I would have spent more monthly with higher down payment with 0 ownership benefit. Plus I’m used to features that Gravity excels at which X won’t have such as HUD and massage seats.

Speaking of the HUD, I saw posts that it’s too reflective on the Gravity? Is that true? The demo GT didn’t have one.
 
I like the Model X but it became too expensive for what it is, not a whole lot different from the Model Y but almost double the price
 
I’ve had the Y for 5 years and getting another didn’t feel that special. Yes, it got better. It still same car overall. I enjoy having at least a second display, a few more premium features too like air suspension and soft close doors. Which is why the X was something that I’ve considered. But I agree, it isn’t double the car and price should have been decreasing as it aged va increasing.

Agree, this was the main reason we decided on an untested Gravity over the X. The value isn’t there for the price with the X. A year ago the X was going for about $16k less.
