Out of Spec 3 Row EV race - Lucid Gravity driven by Kyle

I don’t know what the rules are and doesn’t help to guess. I will be driving to Maryland over thanksgiving so will add 500 miles of my own with a 5 person stuff loaded vehicle on custom 22s with a Michelin All Season 4 inefficient tire.

Might be interesting.

They got to the finish line, it looks like last night. 2nd photo of them in the Buzz, looks to be that they are realxing/having fun mode after the race.

Man, 2.5 is a bit disappointing given their stated rating.

One reason I was planning to get a Gravity over an iX was the beyond 400+ range. That's just not being happening and the iX can climb into the mid 300's in some cases. Then it just comes down to charging speed differences and I'm now thinking I can wait a few more minutes given the Lucid software gremlins.

It all depends on how you drive it. I average 2.9 and I'm not light on it, but not full sending it all the time either, but mostly on regular city/side streets in my daily commute.

2.5 in the cold and I am not using stock wheels or tires which are the efficiency option. I am sure I can go over 300 but my aim is performance and thus I setup my vehicle as such, which makes it less efficient.

Hoping that critical battery photo will tell us how many miles past 0 could be driven. I know Notch EV has a range exchange cable which would be a good backup for when vehicle finally stops.

BTW - totally helps to speculate, but not to guess. Speculation, followed by fierce discussions with no basis in fact on either side or all sides are encouraged in the forums…without this type of discourse, there would be little/no activity as we have very limited info from the mothership.

I am not at the car shaking stage yet, right now I’m at the below 50% freak out stage.

Yesterday Google Maps turned a 20 minute charger trip into a 40 minute cross state round trip drive through a $20 tunnel.

I did get to charge at the end of it, but not at the rates I was hoping for from Manhattans only advertised 500kw charger.

Tesla SCs routinely do that to me on Gravity. Even when I am the only one at a 20+ stall, gen 3 charge - I feel like it’s purposeful. At least it works though. That’s a plus.

it's 500kw max, but it's not 500kw per stall, they just shift power around between car service vehicles that can barely hit 100kw so it makes no sense to have a Megawatt capable infrastructure if nobody can truly take advantage, it's basically bait and switch that's just legal enough to use.

I have hit as high as 240kw between 10-56% which is essentially basic Tesla charging speeds.

I have yet to hit it when there are no other cars to truly see if they are full of it...one day I will get close.

Agree! Out of all the tests Kyle has done over the years he’s never shown us anything to make these tests look like they’re rigged either so it’s poor form for people to even insinuate that.

Nothing was rigged. I certainly wouldn't take time off from work, spend a week driving 4k miles across the country twice to just "pretend" to race

You complain about getting 2.5m/kWh and make a big deal out of it which gets people to rethink their buying decisions, yet don’t let them know in those messages that you have non-stock, inefficient, and suboptimal setup.

And you further call the test rigged. It’s very misleading and feels inappropriate.

I think when you reference your numbers you need to be more careful as your data is a huge outlier. I don’t know re: gravity but I get the rated range in my Air when I drive how it was tested, which is in compliance with the law.

Just be careful how you portray things as this thread is read piecemeal by people and not in its entirety.
