Not pre-determind at all. Just saying Kyle (and everyone else, really, but especially Kyle) is really showcasing the capabilities of their vehicle well. Race continues to unfold as we speak.

If Kyle is the primary and is going out of his way to drive the Gravity as opposed to using multiple vehicle for the same task…I would say this is more advertisement than a race.

I want the Gravity to showcase their tech but this doesn’t sound like a fair fight.

Anyway…will wait for the 3 hour video to see how much fun they were having, I am sure some data will come out.

The Gravity is charging at 400kW. Look closer at the display. That's what the car is currently pulling in, not the rating of the station. It's about the same amount of power as is consumed by 50 houses.

If I'm understanding all this correctly, that 400 kW is more than 36 times the 11 kW pulled when charging at home. As a another member suggested, I think I misread the charge data (miles/minute) I saw from one of my home charging sessions.

The 34 miles/minute I think I saw was probably 34 miles/hour. Makes more sense and confirmed mathematically. After a little over 8 hrs. of home charging, 273 miles of rated range is added to my GGT; (34*8= 272).

Kyle’s post from Saturday before start of race said expect video’s “next week”, so I assume that now means “this week.”

You host the race, you drive the favorite, you declare it the winner (insert Kyle instead of the word you where necessary)

I’m not saying it’s rigged, but it’s certainly not sounding in any way other than pre-determined to me, personally.

I have seen a number of OOS races similar to this one. In a lot of cases Kyle will drive what he thinks is the favorite and then during the race be surprised when another car turns out to out perform. I have never seen him rig things to favor his car. To be fair, these races are not totally scientific and can show the variables of road tripping in an EV. One car may show up at a charging station to find all chargers full, or one they connect to being charge limited for some reason or broken, etc.

To me, it’s really about where they charge and strategy for charging. Based on numbers and efficiency, Gravity “should” win, but there are so many factors. Are they all taking the exact same route with exact same speed and exact same traffic? No way. Not possible. They could run the race five times and have five different outcomes.

I don’t know what the rules are and doesn’t help to guess. I will be driving to Maryland over thanksgiving so will add 500 miles of my own with a 5 person stuff loaded vehicle on custom 22s with a Michelin All Season 4 inefficient tire.

Might be interesting.
