OTA Update 2.7.0

One thing I have noticed is that DDP seems to ping pong in the lane again almost exactly like it used to prior to .16

And I hope they push an update to the audio defaulting to CarPlay instead of the native Tidal app. That’s super annoying to have to do that every time I get in the car.

Have a nice day!

Good philosophy. I use a combination of 'work around +live with it' to enjoy the car. However, the Silence of Lucid is what is amazing. Do you think they are bound by a silence clause in their contract?
I'm not sure what you mean by this. It has been addressed publicly, several times. I was at a live event where Peter Rawlinson himself answered this very question and described that they're stuck in this vendor contract. He was forthcoming and honest. There's nothing else they can say about it.

some people behave like everything else in their life is perfect.. good for them.

Pretty sure I found a bug in the 2.7.0 update w/ AirPlay and the rest of the apps and navigation that depend on a 'cell signal'. I'm able to repeat it every time, and even after an 'A' reboot:

noticed that on the pilot display that shows your 'cell strength' was showing one tick mark (low signal)... i go to Tidal/Spotify and I can't get anything to play. Tidal was not even connecting.. just the spinning load graphic. Assumed it's the low cell strength. If I look at phone, it shows 5 bars and LTE.. i look back at the pilot screen... one bar. Hmmm.. so then I open carplay and on that display that shows signal strength, it matched what my phone indicated.. 5 bars, LTE. I then noticed as soon as the CarPLay screen appears, the signal strength on the pilot screen jumped to 5 bars.. then I go back to the Tidal/Navigation/etc, and it works.

I can repeat this EVERY time I can't get any of the audio apps to work (aside from FM), or even more fun.. if the nav system shows me the all too familiar 'can't get a network connection'. No matter where I am, driving or parked in areas of acceptable cell strength. If Tidal locked up, or Spotify vanishes (like it does about once a week), it's 100% cured if I open CarPLay, sync the cell strength, and then go back to fully functional Tidal/Spotify/Navigation.

Anyone else wanna verify this next time you're locked out of the apps that need cell network?

That's interesting! BTW the car uses AT&T. Is your phone on a different carrier?

I know that part. But why wouldnt they try to work a fix with the vendor that might be offered as an extra cost item. e.g. just one simple example: Turn in your key and we will give you one with a real button or buttons and a larger battery.

In other words, show that you are working within the contract on a fix.

You’ve made a big assumption here; that they haven’t tried. We don’t know the details, but it is definitely impossible this is an issue they do not care about and have never tried to find a fix for, whether technical or contractual.

...now it kinda makes sense... in that (possibly) as soon as I activated carplay, the signal was switched to use the 'phone' as the connection to all systems via its network. ....maybe... ??

I think you may be correct. But that then suggests that there may be a muzzling clause in the contract.

As I said before, I have found ways around the issue, in order to enjoy this great car, but it refelects poorly when others see it.

That’s my assumption, too. But I don’t know for sure.

Agreed; I don’t have this issue as much as others, but it’s clearly an issue for many.

Dunno if anyone else is encountering this.. but since the 2.7.0 update:
1) at least once a day, i will get into the car to a completely black pilot screen that eventually turns on about 10-20sec after I press the brake pedal.
2) the 'knock' I feel in my steering wheel for low speed turns from a stop are A LOT more frequent and consistent
3) probably not related, but the car not unlocking w/ remote key or the fob is worse. way worse. and no.. i'm not taking my car to the service center again for this to be w/o a car for two weeks to again be told that I need to keep cycling bluetooth connection on my phone or wave the key fob around the car like a shamen chanting "pleeeeasssse open".
I have issue number 1) since I updated. It sometimes take up to 30-40 sec to have the center screen to fully boot up. This and the infotainment automatically switching to CarPlay instead of staying on the last source are the two main issues with 2.7.0.

@marqie are these known issues ?

I have been experiencing #1 as well. Not every drive, but about once per day.

Another 2.7 update issue (other than the annoying “window open “ warning that I can’t shut off), is a charging problem. At 70% charge my home 220 charger starts at 9 kw and within 3-4 minutes decreases to 4 kw. Never did this before and does it with using my other cars Audi charger cord as well as the Lucid one. This is using a dedicated 50 amp breaker in my main box. Really makes charging long. Had been 9 kw the whole charging time before the update.

Anyone else had the issue where all interior sounds don’t work for a drive? Including AirPlay, drive mode shift sounds, even the indicator “blink” — as through the speakers just got disconnected. Everything else works fine, and it goes back to normal the next drive.

Happened to me twice since 2.7.0

Happened to me yesterday, exactly as described. Everything looked/acted normal, but zero sound from any source. Fixed itself when we went into a store for 20 minutes and returned - did not want to pull over for Air reset en-route and my wife said "maybe this is the car's way of telling you we should talk more" :)

I've seen something like this a few times pre 2.7.0, but the blinkers and touch screen still made sounds, just none from any entertainment source, so this is somewhat different. Not the end of the world, but a bit irritating. To be fair, this used to happen periodically in my Model S for the first few years until they eventually fixed it, though in the S you could reboot while driving, so less intrusive.

FWIW, I have Wifi off so maybe not a hand off issue, and I *think* I may have seen a brief network connection message lost before this happened as I was pulling out of the garage. I did have a network connection while driving, since I could change Sirus stations and get updated/current information on the screen that I don't think was cached, so it still may be handoff related from no signal to signal (just a guess).

Found the same, update is a big set back as DDP went from finally smooth back to 'herky-jerky'

Maybe I missed something. Where does it say for Sapphire only?

But even so, to still be fine tuning what every reviewer says is the pinnacle of sedan performance in every dimension is notable.

One of Peter Rawlinson’s lasting contributions to automotive history is the determination he built in a car company to never stop seeking perfection. It might, though, also be the reason he’s no longer there. But the legacy remains. No one has ever put two new cars based on new propulsion technology on the road and have them shoot straight to the top automotive awards upon launch. And the Gravity might turn out to be his third.

Their software group has much to be desired to live up to the hardware. Not great when the most interactions occur via software!

It feels like the updates were applied to the previous, master build, not the latest. Hence the return of the jerky DDP steering. I’m sure it’s difficult to track since the US and rest of the world are not version synced.
