OTA Update 2.6.16

Just read the thread to see how people getting the same problems AFTER the latest update . Coincidence? NOPE !
I also saw multiple people report a coolant valve fault after the latest update. Coincidence? Well, as it turns out, yes.
Regardless, I understand the frustration and I wish you the best of luck getting the issue fixed ASAP, but responding negatively to random posts here just because you're frustrated with something else entirely is not going to help anyone.

Updated remotely while I was out of the country. Now I’m back. Had a display go blank, but did the hard reset. No issues since. Going to do a 250 mile jaunt tomorrow down and back to Scottsdale. Want to test what I think are good improvements. Will report back.

They’ve definitely made code changes to the main cockpit display, as can be seen by the smoother Charge/Power animation as well as the smoother left/right camera in 2.6.16. I’m one of those that’s had the car fail to go on to drive twice now, after charging. Never had a problem in the last year like this until 2.6.16. Coincidence maybe. But more likely a bug.

I am definitely not responding to random posts . This is a thread about the latest update. The latest update made the car a paper weight for lots of people like me . I have every right to complain and not being a lucid fan boy .
Wish you the best

The post you quoted was not related to your issue. The thread may be, but the post was not and you are effectively just yelling in the face of a stranger who happens to be standing next to you. Again, I get it, not asking you to fanboy, but you’ve said your piece here and are no longer being productive. Instead you could try to coordinate with the others who have this issue and see what you all might have in common. Same model year? Same trim? Same DD package? Etc.

I chose to appreciate Lucid for my experience with the update. That does not invalidate anyone else’s experience with the software, good or bad, nor does it make sense that anyone else invalidate mine. I hope that anyone having significant issues is able to get them resolved quickly. Cheers.

And to have a more constructive discussion, I have DD basic with SSP. 2023 AWD Pure, 20” wheels, metal roof.

Yelling ??. Someone is over sensitive… Have a great night

You’re right, this is a helpful contribution. Thanks for helping us all out.

Perhaps, as asked earlier, you could help out further by actually describing what kind of hardware your car has, such that we could perhaps find a pattern, and so that it could then get resolved?

Also, it could still be coincidence. That is, in fact, how coincidences work, as we saw with the coolant valve issue. The first definition of a coincidence: a remarkable concurrence of events or circumstances without apparent causal connection.

I’m not saying it’s a coincidence. That it *could* be is definitely true, though. Finding a pattern among the relatively few cars affected would help decipher that.

Alternatively, just keep doing what you’re doing, I guess.

I'm having bugs after this update. When I first get in screen goes blank and the speakers start doing a loud click click click click. It does it about 10 times then all the lights on the dash come on. Super annoying that an update makes things worse. IS there a way to roll back to previous version until they sort this out?

I'm having this issue occasionally after the update as well.
Sometimes it seems like the car is just "stuck" as I cannot shift into drive or reverse, use turn signals, etc... It will also sometimes think that my front door is open when it's not. It generally fixes itself after 15-20 seconds so it hasn't been awful, but definitely annoying.

It also tends to make really loud sharp static burst sounds from the speakers when this happens. This also goes away after about 10 seconds, but it is unaffected by the volume setting. I'm not sure if this is related to carplay or something.

I've tried the Air logo reset 3 or 4 times but this issue still crops up from time to time. I'll probably need to call the Lucid service center to see if they have any fix for this.
Me too. A N N O Y I N G

This shows the conundrum that manufacturers face. Everyone wants these updates sooner rather than later, then when they come out and aren't perfect, everyone gets upset (justifiably so). The solution of course is better software and better vetting. There's nothing simple about these cars

Sorry you guys are having these probs--I would be pretty upset if an update made my car virtually unusable.

Couldn’t agree more.

Update. It seems it is doing this after a charge. Earlier getting in the car not after charging was fine. I just charged and it did the error.

While I don’t have the problem with putting the car in drive, I have noticed the left and right screens are regularly out of sync when I first get in the car now. Like when climate keep is enabled, usually both screens are blacked out until you hold the button. Today the left screen came on immediately while the right screens were still black. Other times, I see that one takes a couple seconds longer to start up than the other. No impact on functionality for me, but definitely different.

Are they two separate Android instances, I wonder? Or are the left (dash) screens some kind of more robust RTOS, since I would imagine there are a lot of hard real time deadlines the dash software must meet that an Android system can't...

That is my guess, yes. The left two screens are definitely a separate computer, and they seem much less Android-y. Which is a good thing, but yeah, complex.

Just finished a 392 mile trek down I-81, I've noted tangible efficiency improvements with this update. Last time I did this drive I struggled to break 4.4 mi/kw, this time I hit 4.45 mi/kw despite absolutely ripping thru some of the more fun back roads. Not going to say this was a problem-free update, but there some serious improvements buried in this update.

This update has indeed seemingly introduced several bugs not seen before in my 2025 AT:
1. The car randomly would refuse go into drive or reverse
2. It randomly misreads speed signs, reading speed limit at 75 mph on a city street
3. The stop and go function doesn't work 90% of the time with the error code saying that it does not recognize my face
4. I've noticed several times it fails to recognize the car ahead while in adaptive cruise mode and thus fails to slow down, prompting my takeover.

These are minor annoyances, but still.*

*And a few disclaimers for the regular fan base: 1. Lucid is the greatest car/technology company. 2. Nobody ever promised that any updates will come within any specific time frame. 3. No competitor even comes close in terms of other features/characteristics of the Lucid Air. 4. The majority of fresh owners have never been through what the pioneer owners have, thus they don't have a right to complain. Did I forget anything?

Did a 21 mile one way test in Smooth averaging around 60mph for 15 miles and 40 mph for 5 miles. 400lbs between four passengers and beach stuff. 75 degrees and flat along the Florida coast. Same conditions on the return trip with no cars in front or behind. Air conditioning was running only to circulate air at 72.

Smooth Result: 3.43 miles/kWh.
Swift Result: 3.28 miles/kWh.

.15 miles/kWh difference. Efficiency seems to be different between modes. I plan on testing in Sprint to see if it drops further. Overall, this appears to be about a .3 to .4 increase in efficiency in Smooth mode where my lifetime efficiency hovers around 3.1.

This is the GT-P on 21" OEM tires (brand new, <1k miles).

It does appear that may be an issue; we don’t know if it’s related to this update but it is appearing more likely. Posting if it’s happened to you and details about your car may help identify it.

2. It randomly misreads speed signs, reading speed limit at 75 mph on a city street

This is not new. It’s done this since I bought the car.
