FEATURE OTA Update 2.1.52

Installed 2.1.52 last night. It certainly did some robust things:

1. For the first time in months, CarPlay did not load. It wasn't even possible to delete and reinstall the phone to do this, as the fone didn't show.
2. On the highway, the motors died. Everything else (except car play) was working, but the car lost all motive energy on US 101 in Palo Alto.
3. After trying a reset, (walking away and waiting 15 minutes). The car ran again, carplay did not, and the app now shows the software rolled back to 2.1.50.

Robust that!

(yes, I robustly called service.)
My CarPlay disappeared after the OTA update as well. Just went to connectivity in the menu, selected my phone and pressed the CarPlay icon and reconnected immediately.

I have a garage door remote opener to my visor too. I'm not completely sure how to program Homelink because the opener I have wasn't really responding to the car when I tried. I'll try again when it's updated. And I'm in that minority that can't say “Hey Siri close the garage.”, so that wouldn't work either. This is one of those very rare times when I'd like to have an iPhone.
Amy, this may sound silly, but mine refused to program at first until I changed the battery in my garage door opener. Then it worked happily.

thank you ...

Does high bean assistance working, i set it to AUTO... it is not work.. i have to manual turn on
When set to auto, the high beams have to be manually turned on for each drive. Once manually engaged, they will turn off an on automatically.

I did try that, no phone showing...will not add one.

Select your tires size again from the preferences…

I’m guessing tires were swapped at some point, but everything may not have been done correctly.
Even if the setting is already correct for my current tires?

Heading to my car to update now...

FYI - you don;t have to head to car to update. You can use the app to start the download. Save yourself a trip.

I also had the TPMS error light after updating the tire size, however, the light went off after the car slept for about an hour. My 20" wheels were almost definitely swapped from 19's before I took delivery.

Here’s a video on the latest update:
I like the humor and the more involved editing (PIP, lower 1/3rds etc). Nice job. Having done a lot of editing over the years, I appreciate this stuff. Now with that said, I was living in constant fear you were going to poke doggie in the eyes! 🤣

the is LUCID PR , want us to buy their car. I got the DDPRO.. it doesnt do anything yet!
If definitely does 'something.' DDPro gives you the ability to use Highway Assist. It's not FSD, but it's pretty good at what it does. There are future DDPro plans - Traffic Jam Assist and Highway Pilot (I think that's the name) - but Lucid is taking it slowly to make sure the car doesn't try to kill you when using it (ala FSD).

Kinda like Tesla? Sorry. Not an Elon fanboy, never was. But there are some things that Tesla’s software designers got right from the very beginning.

I’ve broken down and resorted to adding a garage door remote opener to my visor. Quite anachronistic in a car as state-of-the-art as the Lucid Air. I’ll remove it as soon as the reworked software with geofencing is dropped into our cars.
Yup, me too, but I attached it with velcro in the lower door pocket so I don’t look like a Luddite. I can hit the button without being seen.

It may be a looong time before self-driving technology gets to the point where it won’t try to kill you (my guess is 5 years+). That’s why we have L2 supervised technology in the market, it may kill you but you have a driver watching over it.

Yea…another feature that you ask yourself why did they do it that way? Lol there are so many little things that are done weirdly that are just too much to capture in wishlists. Not able to mute nav voice permanently, having to link homelink per profile, nav and keyboards taking 7 seconds to load..it would probably be easier to rebuild the UI from the ground up. Hopefully they took that approach with 3.0 instead of trying to tackle individual features. It’ll take years to fix all the little weird bugs that are in 1.0/2.0
