Okay... who keeps turning off my 'stop hold' to 'roll'?

Somewhat funny... but at least 3 times now, I've been in my car and noticed that I was rolling backwards into the behind me in traffic.. I am a 'hold' person, so when the car stops.. it holds until i press the accelerator... basic stuff. But somehow... the car is setting itself to 'roll'. I checked w/ the family, and no.. nobody is pranking me. It last happened when I KNEW it was set to hold... and after a few days of driving, the car started creeping into an intersection. WTF!? .....checked the setting, and it was set back to 'roll'.

there were no updates to the software, and it's happened even before the latest update.

anyone else have this happen? Now I check it every time I'm about to drive. Sucks.
 
Yes. Just Lucids class leading software. Creep never works more than once or twice then defaults back to brake hold or roll without warning.
 
I'm a "hold" guy and find myself putting the car into park and resetting 2-3 times a week.
 
I've only had this happen once, it was recent and noticed after going to .30 so I assumed that was the reason
 
Also an AGT. Every once in a while, I get a notice that "Creep is enabled." It usually happens when I in my garage. I don't know why it happens, but I've never been interested enough to look into it. Perhaps this is different than what you're talking about. (I have "hold" enabled.)
 
Mine has reliability stayed in "roll" mode, where I like it. It's never changed back on its own.

Wow i just got home and noticed on my way that it just turned to roll mode a few blocks away which I've never used in 3 years
 
Mine has stayed in Hold with no issues.

Software sure is odd with when/how it can flake out so variously….
 
I am not sure why they don’t just offer hold only. I don’t think the latest Tesla’s offer a roll option anymore.

Does anybody really want roll?

I’m with you, but apparently lots of people want roll; we have a bunch of folks on this forum who prefer it.
 
I love not having to hold the brake pedal down while sitting at 3-minute red lights or slow drive-thrus. However, I will say that Hold Mode does a terrible job of what it thinks is a "limo stop"; maybe the Pure/Touring trims do a better job with their lighter platforms? Perhaps its calibrated for a particular wheel size? I used to stop so smoothly in my Ram that a passenger could sip coffee while I bring it to 0 mph.

I've never had that mode switch on its own. I did have a couple months where the Lane Departure Protection enabled itself every few drives. Service Center resolved it; not sure what their solution was.
 
I lost hold mode last weekend. Caught me off guard. Some of my other settings reverted as well. I didn't do a software update either.
 
Isn’t this why engineering Explained guy finally had his car bought back by Lucid? He was pretty freaked out by it. Overreaction I think on his part (and yes I know he had lots of other things go wrong but they were all pretty minor imo), but still a problem that shouldn’t be happening.

My garage seems narrow, but I still prefer hold for parking. I can inch the car forward or back with, what seems to me, to be complete fine control. If I lift up on the accelerator pedal it stops immediately. And a light depression of the pedal moves it very slowly without any jerk.

I respect your opinion, just surprised that in your described use that hold would not be preferred.

Maybe I find it easy because I am used to hold from my Tesla.
