Next OTA Update

At this pace, I’m starting to wonder if I’ll ever see a major update and if the Spotify issue will be fixed during my short 18-month lease. I’m already 6 months in.
 
I think Marc Winterhoff already spoke in the latest interview that there will be a major update which will leapfrog most of automakers for DDpro (level 3)

They will achieve that by in house testing and development + partnerships with tech providers
 
yeah, personally I don't give a shit about the self-driving crap. Of course, my car doesn't have it, but that's how I prefer it.

I really wish to see the whole multi-task thing they've suggested will be coming, so I can have both music and maps up on two different screens at the same time. That halo thing sounds nice, but since I don't have 360 degree cameras, that's likely irrelevant to me, too. If they could also integrate Apple Music into the UI, that would be a cherry on top for me, then I would have absolutely no use for CarPlay ever.

I would *love* to dump carplay. I thought we needed it for the texting functionality?

Nope. You can text via Bluetooth. It’s just a better experience texting with CarPlay.
 
With every software update I always feel that my car is soon going to get that "Halo" effect shining around it. Every version specially the one claim car is going to be more robust sets that expectation. 😂😂
 
They've implemented all the features I care about already. Sure, repurposing the built in cameras as dash cams would be nice but I'm not heartbroken it's not here yet. The car is much better than when I took delivery.

Now all I want is for the cameras to stop crashing, Spotify to stop crashing, and for the weird audio glitches to stop occurring. Or at least let the car somehow automatically power-cycle the relevant components on its own instead of showing an error message telling me to do it. Give me all the robustness.

Basically you are asking for applying common sense while engineering a product or a feature in a luxury segment car 😄 there are features that are so called auto but require manual triggers 😂😂 that demonstrates the lack of applied common sense. But the engineering team has made lot of functions more robust for sure.

I prefer car's default functionality over AA or Carplay. But sometimes ease of use / flexibity wins, specially when using with the Maps. Built-in navigation functionality is not great and drives me to AA or Carplay (I use both).
