AI boxes can only project to display (or in Gravity's case - portion of the display) designated by car's manufacturer to CP/AA. If Lucid enables in future updates projecting CP/AA to Pilot panel, and not just the cockpit's right side, like you want (many users have requested it) then any AI box will be able to project to the Pilot panel. Initially I was with you too, but then realized that Pilot panel is located too low for that purpose. It's fine if your car is stationary, but if you plan on watching TV, Netflix, etc. while driving - looking that much down would be distracting and kinda dangerous. When you look at cockpit, because of how high it sits, your front windshield and entire road view are already in your eye line - you don't have to look away from the screen of whatever you're watching to see the road. That's why I changed my mind about having CP/AA projected to Pilot panel. It's only good for stationary use. It does have to be acknowledged though that for the purposes of potential interaction with men and women in blue that low location of the Pilot panel is more advantageous than the the cockpit, because it cannot be seen from other cars passing by, unless it's a large truck or a bus.

Ummmm. That’s a whole different thread if you want to watch Netflix while driving….it is not just looking down that would be distracting….

If you have your way and Lucid gives you what you want you'll be able to watch your Netflix and whatever else only when the car is parked, charging, etc. With AI box you will have no restrictions on when you can use it or what software you can use to play whatever content you want to play.

Also, these days AI boxes require literally zero technical knowledge or skills. The only skill you need to have to implement this "workaround" is to have an opposable thumb, in order to be able plug one end of USB-C cable into the box, and other end into the Gravity's USB-C port in the center console. Like you said - it's year 2026.

If you are watching while driving, we're now at hands off, eyes off autonomous driving. With that level, I would expect the entire windshield to be my screen, so I can watch "Animal House" comfortably.

I was mostly just looking at the use case of watching videos while parked or charging. I feel like AA/CP multi-display support only really makes sense if the second screen is the IC or HUD, like on BMWs and Audis (at least for AA). Unless Lucid lets you pick which screen gets the projection, but I doubt they'll bother with that.

Purely theoretical discussion about technical capabilities of a piece of hardware 😄 Some people like to know they have no restrictions on what software they can use, or when they can use it, regardless of the intended use. Just because you got the capable tech doesn't mean you plan to misuse it.

I would like to suggest moderators close this thread and a new 3.5 (or whatever it turns out to be) can be started once the software releases. This thread has gone way off the rails and left all sense behind...

I would like to vote down this suggestion. This thread is about v3.5 update for Gravity, the main, key features of this update are CarPlay and Android Auto, and the discussion has been centered around hardware and software that can utilize these 2 new, added capabilities of this v3.5 update. It could not have been any more on topic.
 
I'm not sure why ppl are complaining like little kids. My GGT operates fine prior to 3.5 announcement, so nothing has changed. YOU know Lucid is a new'ish company so there will be some obstacles. If you don't like it, sell the vehicle or go for one of the competitor EVs. Lucids are pushing out new models faster than the industry's average while the ICE competitors are taking a longer time. It's not the end of the world that 3.5 is delayed, geez... R-E-L-A-X.

We don’t have to have this shut down - but the entire thread is hopes, wishes, wants and conjecture. Once 3.5.x is issued, a new thread with facts, findings of bugs and useful workarounds might be more worthwhile.

The topic is still relevant. Some posts have been overly personal and there is no need for that. Disagreement is fine and pointing what you believe/know is correct is also fine. Making personal comments about what another forum member knows or does not know does not add to the discussion or strengthen your argument. Please continue the discussion but please keep comments polite and respectful.

AH now we are hitting proper milestones:) That being said, I think it would help immensely if Lucid got into an actual cadence where they just released something on every 2nd Thursday of a month and took more time to test. I really don't think any feature can't be pushed one month, you just add/remove features from the monthly release and make it only ones that are fully tested.

Well good for you, you’re happy with not having 3.5. I guess you’ll be happy to not get any future OTA updates. There’s really no point in posting in this thread then. Forums are made for people to discuss things, that includes complaints. People have a right to express their displeasure when something isn’t delivered on time. Things calmed down once communication explaining the delay occurred. Your comment adds less value to this topic than the complaints.

On one hand, I really feel for the guys—they're under serious pressure right now and simply can't afford to screw up. But on the other hand, they chose to reinvent the wheel without having enough resources, and ultimately, it's us end-users who suffer for it. I genuinely hope that everyone will be thrilled with 3.5 and that the Lucid engineers all get solid spot bonuses out of it.
 
Imagine for a moment that you’re not on this forum. A week ago today, you received an email with a link to an article that said 3.5 was rolling out today. That article hasn’t been updated. You’re not on this forum, so you have no idea that news about a delay was posted by an employee in a forum thread that’s now 14 pages long and counting. How long do you figure it will be until Lucid either rolls out the update or more broadly communicates the delay?
