New on the Lucid configurator today are 2 packages for the Air Touring & Air Pure. One is the Dream Drive Pro and the other the Surreal Sound System. The sound system raises no questions in my mind, but the Dream Drive Pro list of features most certainly does.
Included in the Dream Drive Pro are 'features' such as:
* Blind spot monitoring with blind spot display
* Surround view monitor
* Lane departure protection
* Front & rear cross traffic detection
* Rear pedestrian collision protection
* Future ready hardware for semi-autonomous driving functionality with OTA updates
It's almost impossible for me to believe that these features, available on BEVs costing far less, and ICE/hybrid vehicles cost $25K-35K, would only be available on the Dream Drive Pro option and not standard. If Lucid is promoting these vehicles as among the safest on the road, then the above features should, most certainly, be standard.
Even the last feature I listed for semi-autonomous driving raises questions. Up to this point OTA updates were assumed to be part of any Lucid vehicle. Yet this feature can be construed as meaning OTA updates are only available with this package. Of course it can also be construed to mean that OTA updates are available for the semi-autonomous driving aspect of the package. I'm almost certain, based on logic, this is the case as opposed to overall OTA capability. Either way, clarification is needed.
I'm going to assume all of this is the result of some initial confusion with the newly posted packages. In my discussion this morning with Lucid, the advisor wasn't even aware these new packages had been posted. So he's trying to get some clarification on this as he did agree with my assessment.
