Hey all,

Is it just me or is the newly updated iOS app 2.7.0 is constantly showing the « book demo drive » popup everytime you open it?

To repo, just open the app, escape the popup, close the app (with a slide up) and reopen the app.

I guess you are right that this message pops up every time you reopen the app, but if you leave the app running in the background, as we are supposed to do, then its a one-time thing.

android .. I get this every time. I have for a few weeks now. I just dismiss it but yeah it's a little odd, I know to book a test drive if needed.

My guess is you are force quitting the app every time you use it? Don’t do that. It’s not necessary.

But yeah, it shouldn’t ask every time the app launches from a cold start, either. Likely a bug they’ll have to fix.

On iOS, previous versions of the app chewed up phone battery. Force closing stopped the drain. I’ll have to retry again with this version

I usually let app runs in the background, but since I can't use my phone as a key to the car, I took the habit of killing the app every time.

There were a few past versions that ran some errant loops in the background that caused drain for sure. Hasn’t done that to me for quite some time.

This morning I got the demo drive screen when I opened the Lucid app on my iPhone. I have my phone set to automatically update apps, so this might be a new version.

I think the workaround is if you click book a test drive instead of maybe later, then it doesn’t ask you again. You don’t actually have to book the test drive. I tested it by force closing the app and then reopening it and it doesn’t alert me anymore.

Well, that’s what we in the industry call a “dark pattern.”

Annoying you until you do the thing they want.

Or, it’s a bug, missed in testing because no one imagined that some people would not want a test drive.

Given Lucid’s history, I’m going with bug.

I got it exactly once. If I don’t force close the app, it doesn’t come back again. 🤷‍♂️

Still draining battery here. Showing 39% battery usage in past 22h. Will have to keep force closing app as I have in the past.

Great suggestion. Worked for me!
