New Bugs Since 3.5.1

Try to watch a single YouTube review that wasn't done 8-9 months ago prior to many of the fixes though.
What fixes? Fixes that were there after the update, but disappeared since then?
As of today my car has more activated bugs than the day I bought it 8 months ago.

I really think they are desperately tweaking the software trying to work around bad hardware decisions.

The 3.5.1 thing we see in the cars is the base image. They can push config changes over the air at any time, without anybody knowing. That's in fact very common in mobile apps.

And mine is bug free. Again you guys with issues make the assumption that everyone is having the same experience that you are and that's just not true. Yes, there are owners with issues but there are also plenty of us who own Gravity that don't have all those problems.

Aaaand the rear wheel steering in my loaner Gravity just broke 🤣
That new Lexus EV is looking better for you every minute. Simple and straight forward might just be the right recipe for you. Or, an adult tricycle. :)

Same. On the bug standpoint the only consistent thing I’m seeing is the face camera randomly disables but will often re-enable next time you get in the car and still having fob issues.

Too boring. I want Lucid to fix assembly issues in the Gravity. I’m not even going off about the build quality of this specific specimen loaner I’ve got. I opened the passenger door and the whole windshield trim just fell off lol, the third row seats are broken, rear windshield washer doesn’t work, it’s a mess. But if they can tighten up the factory QA process, they’ll have the most exciting SUV on the market. There is nothing exciting about Lexus.

💯 - I agree on everything. However, maybe it's time for you to hang up your "early adopter" hat and drive something proven. Perhaps become a "late adopter". Buy the last vehicle before production stops. 🤣

Gravity is a loaner. I didn’t know I was an early adopter on the Air. It’s going to lemon law.

But I do agree completely and bought a BMW i7. If/once Lucid gets it all in gear I would consider a Gravity. I think the Air in general is good, just not the particular one i got. But overall the car itself is fine. Just not mine!

100%. When everything works, it's the best SUV out there. I love it!

I have the same relationship with my airplane (Diamond DA62). When everything works, I love it! But boy, sometimes it tests your patience. I hear the same from boat owners.

I have been but saying that you can't find a review that doesn't complain about software bugs when those reviews are way out of date software-wise at this point is a bit of a misleading reference for all of this.

I would agree with this if the software issues those older reviews reported were, in fact, now resolved for all owners. But they are not and are actually increasing for some owners.

I accept that many Gravities are relatively problem-free. I know some on this forum think the tone of this and other threads is a result of adverse selection, with owners having problems posting in greater proportion than owners who are completely satisfied. But I also know that the high percentage of reviewers that reported significant software problems and the number of credible posters sharing experiences with similar or identical bugs indicate a car with a significant risk of having serious software issues -- even issues that can prevent you from easily opening or starting the car without first mastering a long list of workarounds -- and workarounds that work for some cars but not for others.

Even with the risk of buying or leasing a Gravity with a significant chance of software issues, it may be a car worth that risk for some people. But for people where it will be their only car or people who rely on the car as a family conveyance, it's a much riskier proposition and one about which they should be warned before taking the leap.

Whether a video reporting software bugs was made yesterday or made nine months ago, it's still a relevant video, sad to say.

You're trying to minimize a very serious issue. If even most Gravities are bug-free, it's clear there are still many that are not. And the bugs are not just things like faulty music streaming or malfunctioning accent lighting. Many owners are having difficulties getting into their cars, difficulties starting their cars, unnerving warnings popping up, screens with important operating information blacking out in the middle of a drive, etc.

Every manufacturer produces an occasional lemon, and many brands are having some software issues. But the frequency of Lucid's software bugs, the number of features they affect, the need to master a slew of workarounds just to get the car open and started, and the number of cars apparently affected is like nothing I -- and many reviewers -- have ever seen.

These software issues have Lucid teetering on the brink. It's showing up in sales numbers. It's showing up in the stock price. It's showing up in professional reviews. It's showing up in forums and chat rooms.

The finest, roomiest, and most energy-efficient driving machines on the road today are being brought to their knees by bad software -- and the company along with it.

You’re absolutely right. This company will end up going bankrupt not because they don’t make great cars. Much the opposite. They make great cars that people can’t tolerate, because they aren’t dependable. They’re building a terrible reputation for themselves.

Look at the reviews from Savage Geese or Engineering Explained. Those folks, among other, are heavy influencers in this segment.

And it makes the car really seem unreliable. I’ve had this loaner gravity for two weeks and there is some weird error almost every day. For a few days Dream Drive just errored every day and told me to Schedule Service. Today I went to the store, got back in the car and it declared the rear steering broken and schedule service. Then next drive it went away. Another time it quit detecting the key while I was already driving. It’s absolutely baffling this is a production car. But then others are just fine!

We took delivery of our Air Dream Edition on December 31, 2021. The first nine months we ran an unrelenting gauntlet of software tortures, some of which rendered the car literally undriveable. But in October 2022 Lucid released a retooled version -- UX 2.0 -- and from that point forward there was a rapid succession of updates that quickly resolved software glitches and left us with a generally reliable car that is still an absolute hoot to drive and is holding up very well structurally and mechanically.

We took delivery of our first Gravity on June 30, 2025. We've now had it over 10 months, and there is no let-up in the software problems. Some early problems have disappeared, but they have been replaced by new ones. Our newer Gravity, delivered December 16, 2025 was a different story. It was free of many of the problems that plagued our older Gravity, and its fewer problems were diminishing, including the notorious key fob issues. The only new (and still unresolved) problem from that period was a malfunctioning rear hatch.

But then 3.5.1 hit. Within a couple of weeks we began to see a widening cascade of software problems, almost all of which others posters have reported here at one time or another. I have documented many of these with photos and videos. Lucid has sent a mobile tech more than once to verify some of them independently, which he has done with photos and videos.

And the situation is not improving.

Our experience with the Air had encouraged hope that the Gravities would start to see the kind of improvement the Air did by the 9-10 month mark. That time has passed.

I have been hoping that at some point I would get a call from Lucid saying they were going to bring each car in and really get to the bottom of why we were seeing problems that many other cars weren't. But the earlier responsiveness I saw from Lucid has evaporated.

I get the strong impression that Lucid is at a loss for how to deal with these problems and has just decided to turn a deaf ear to the Gravity and get on with the next model . . . a model that I fear with be the final nail in the company's coffin if they don't get their software act together.

I wonder this too. From a purely business point of view I get it. There’s only a few thousand of them, they don’t sell well, how much effort do they put into them when the company is riding on the success of the Cosmos anyways.

I was gonna comment the same. The only team I hear back from is their crickets department. You would think Lucid would make a bit of an effort to use owners as brand promoters and ambassadors by keeping them happy so I can finally stop advising people against buying the brand. I'll let them keep building up unsold inventory then.
