Need honest answers from Lucid Owners-If you know what you know today, would you still buy a Lucid Air living over 600 miles away of a service center?

No issues on this end. The newer models are practically flawless compared to the 22' model year. I've now had two models from the 22' timeframe.

Lucid picks up the car in a covered trailer with a loaner rolled off nowadays. Don't stress it. The car is fantastic. Lucid will take care of you with warranty work via mobile service visit or pickup in covered trailer.

Tbh, I wouldn't get any car that I had to travel 600 miles for service unless I had back up cars and wouldn't mind paying for transport to and from.

I've had 2 surprise service appointments in my year and half of ownership. It's not a lot, but at 1,200 miles per trip? Yea...no thanks.

Lucid has always picked up my car for warranty issues. This is not a concern for OP.

On the other hand, if OP wants to install crossbars or use Lucid for yearly maintenance, swapping out tires, etc., then he would either have to drive, pay for transport, or pay for mobile service.

I promise Lucid takes really good care of the more remote owners.

Based out of Huntsville, AL back when Lucid only had a one car garage place rented for work in Atlanta, GA. Now they have a dedicated service center. At one point, they only had mobile technicians between the service center and the old Roswell location. Service was never an issue throughout.

After hours and hours reading forums and watching videos about Lucid, I am still not very confident to pull the trigger. My biggest gripe is about the build quality . After reading many posts, my conclusion is that the vast majority of the issues are minor and are taken care by Lucid . However, the closest service center from me is 625 miles away. It is very hard to asses reading posts about the percentage of the new units affected by one or more minor issues but it does not seem to be very low. So my I would like to count with the honesty of this group. I understand that most of you are in love with the car and really want Lucid to thrive but I would kindle ask an honest and as unbiased as possible answer .

Thanks !!!
I have had two mobile service visits in the 2 years I've had my Touring. Obviously, those are a minimal hassle event & usually take an hour or less. However, later this week, I have to go to the King of Prussia service center to address issues with my cameras. There are no service facilities in my state ( Delaware). As this will be a 2+ hour trip, one way, that is indeed a hassle. I'd think twice if you're 600 miles away.
Moreover, there are no repair facilities in Delaware, and I have little hope that this will change in the foreseeable future. So that, too, should be part of your calculus - is there a repair facility within a reasonable drive? I have few complaints with the car, and it gets better all the time. But you are looking at some significant inconveniences if you need repairs and/or a major service visit. Good luck!!

NO. NEVER.

I live a mile away from Lucid Studio/Service Center. It’s an amazing vehicle but my car has already been in the shop 3 times and required mobile service visit twice, for minor issues and fixes in the 6 months of lease ownership since April 2024.
And that is exactly the situation that I worry most. It seems Lucid takes care well of those minor issues. and If I had a SC close by it would be a no brainier for me. But at this point it seems that even tough the car is really good , there is a reasonable probability that it eventually might need go to the shop. To make things more complicated, I live in Calgary, between me and the SC in Vancouver there are the Rockies. So it is not only distance but the difficulty to drive there during the winter as well.

Have you asked the Vancouver Service Center if they have a mobile tech based in Calgary? If so, I imagine that would be an important part of your decision-marking process.

They do a lot of work mobile, and they will also tow if you live far enough (I forget the mileage, but it was reasonable).

I'm 200 miles away from the nearest service center, but mobile service comes to my house for most things. If they didn't I probably would not get an air.

Yes, they said that will provide mobile services time to time, not sure exactly the cadence but I could live with that . My biggest concern is really if I am out of lucky and the car have issues that demands to be solved at SC. I will talk with them and let's see what kind of guarantee they will be able to provide to mitigate the risks here.

Question - are mobile service techs based in various cities, or are they all based at the service centers? I ask because the closest to me is in Austin, about 80 miles away - but maybe they have mobile techs here in SA. Just curious if the mobile techs have to travel that far all the time too.

I have 18000 miles on my 2-yr old GT. The closest service center is 350 miles away in Chicago, but there is a mobile service guy out of Louisville KY (160 mi) that has come to my home twice. One visit was for 12-month service and the other was for a GPS problem. I've not had to go to a service center. I do have an alternate vehicle that I can use if necessary, but so far my GT has never been out of service for even a day. I would definitely buy again.

But that does not really answer my question. Does the Vancuver Service Center have a mobile tech BASED in Calgary? I'm not surprised to hear that they would send a guy out, but that's a far cry from them saying that one lives a few miles away.

I live in MPLS and am about 500 miles away from Service Center. I have 45k miles on the car and would absolutely do it again. The big question if you're concerned would be is there mobile service available to you.

I have found the mobile service to be great and able to accomplish most anything needed. The times the car did need to go back (early ownership) Lucid provided loaner and picked up/dropped off.

I don't think it's realistic to ask a new company for a "perfect" or flawless car that has no issues. Each time something has come up Lucid has been great about providing details, communication, and transportation.

I will likely always have at least one in my garage.

325 miles to service center. Have had vehicle 22 months. Touring. I would definitely get mine again. Mobile has been to my house three times. One for very minor issues combined with non-safety/ minor recall. One recall with a GT (free) loaner for a week. One regular maintenance service ($350). Haven’t had to take it back at all.

600 miles is a long way for service. I'm about 2 hours from the nearest service center and have made the drive once for tire service that mobile service couldn't address. It was worth it and they were great. Mobile service is more convenient and I've used it only once. I enjoy driving the car enough that I'd still want to own it even if it was 600 miles to the nearest service center. If I was only driving the 600 miles for annual maintenance I might look at it as a nice road trip with the car.

In interest of full disclosure, if you asked me this a month before I owned the car, I might have told you that I'd never consider dealing with a service center that far from home. I definitely prefer the Air now to the competing performance EVs we test drove and would do it again as long as service was available somewhere.

I am about 120 miles from nearest service center. I took delivery of a 2025 Air GT two weeks ago. I had minor issues and contacted the service center at King of Prussia PA. They sent out their mobile service to my location within three days and took care of my issues. Lastly, I was told that a new service center is scheduled to open in my area, Northern NJ in the spring. You may want to check with Lucid regarding their plans for expansion. It is a fantastic car!

YES, WITHOUT A DOUBT!!
Live 3 hrs from service center, have driven the car for 17 months; service tech came to the house twice for minor issues...
Best car I've ever had!

Antarctica?
I'd say...no.

Not a chance. I think my car has been with the service center for more than 6 weeks over the course of two years, and I've had multiple mobile service visits. Lucid service has been great, but I'm only 90 minutes away, which is about the same as for other high-end dealers in my area. 600 miles would be far too far for me.

I cannot speak to Canada, but if your car is inoperable or you live far from a service center, Lucid will generally tow for you. This assumes this isn't an elective thing like swapping tires or wheels or something.
