Lucid Air Touring
Lucid, time to dump the current navigation system for something more reliable. And time to hire a new Product and Tech team integrating navigation into the car's systems.

All these months of delays to rollout Android Auto and it's a joke. Mediocre at best!!

Can't rely on Lucid's navigation either. Shows 75mph while driving in NJ. The max speed in NJ on any highway is 65mph. Even worse, this was a 35mph local street!!

I do wish the sign reader was more reliable. The most common discrepancy I see is when I'm on a 70mph interstate and drive past a Weigh Station entrance, which has a posted limit of 40mph. The Air picks it up and asks if you'd like to switch to that new speed limit. Imagine hitting that "Set" button on the steering wheel by accident.

I wonder how Tesla successfully filters out these sorta things. Perhaps it prioritizes the road you're on (and its designated speed limit), ignoring the signage. But it still recognizes temporary environments like construction zone limits. 🤷‍♂️

This has nothing to do with navigation. Android Auto works exactly as everyone expected it to, which is the same as CarPlay.

The speed limit sign reading is a separate system entirely, and I agree it could use improvement.

There are certain patches on NJT, for some weird reason, it defaults to 75 mph. Also, when the speed limit is digital (with LEDs) then also it fails to recognize the accurate speed limit. Those are the two times I have identified and the rest of the times it works

borski, I was referring to 2 separate issues.

1) I wish with both AAuto and Apple Carplay, Lucid had taken the time to not slap a silly looking rectangular screen leaving the screen real estate on the right side empty. That has not how over develops any software or feature. When other car manufacturers have figured out how to fill their display screens during navigation, Lucid has no excuse with their current display.

2) is regarding the incorrect road speed on local roads and highways

Regarding number 2, it is not up to lucid to decide how big CarPlay

It is forced by Apple the size and shape/rectangular design and if they do not go by Apples rules, they won’t get the green light to get licensed

Lucid has very smart team but the rules, standards and regulations are not so smart
And some regulations do not make sense at all but automakers/Lucid have to follow
